Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Macan S and Macan Turbo vehicles, and 2017 Macan, Macan Turbo with the Performance Package, and Macan GTS vehicles. The fuel pump flange on the affected vehicles may crack, allowing fuel to leak.
AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGER
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Macan, Macan Turbo Kits, Macan GTS, 2015-2018 Macan S, and Macan Turbo vehicles. The front passenger seat occupancy sensor mat may degrade and fail to detect a passenger in the front seat.
The contact owns a 2017 Porsche Macan Turbo. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front passengerâs side air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed front passenger occupancy sensor. The contact was informed that the front passengerâs side occupancy sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V131000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V131000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. HENDRICK PORSCHE LOCATED AT 6800 E. INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28227, WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
