VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH COULD DEVELOP AN OPEN CIRCUIT CONDITION THAT RESULTS IN THE STOP LAMPS AND THE REAR HAZARD LAMPS BECOMING INOPERATIVE. THE CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP AND TURN SIGNAL FUNCTIONS ARE NOT AFFECTED.

THE WIRING HARNESS IN OUR 2000, OLDSMOBILE BRAVADA CAUGHT FIRE. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH IT CHFED THROUGH AND SHORTED. THE CHAFING OCCURRED WHERE THE HARNESS WAS BENT OVER THE A/C RETURN (?). IT APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW. VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND IS BACK WITH DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED.
