CERTAIN DELPHI FUEL PRESSURE REGULATORS, P/NOS. FP10020-11B1, FP10026-11B1, AND FP10027-11B1, SOLD AFTER JANUARY 9, 2007, AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. THE UNIVERSAL PRESSURE REGULATORS (UPR) WERE PRODUCED WITHOUT AN O'RING AND RETAINER.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2000 OLDSMOBILE ALERO WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND STARTED MAKING LOUND BANGING NOISES FROM THE UNDER CARRIAGE THEN I COULD NOT MAKE A LEFT TURN. I ALMOST GOT HIT HEAD ON AND HAD TO PULL OVER AND HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A SHOP. THE MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE RACK AND PINION AND REALIZED THAT THE SUB FRAME HAS RUSTED OUT. AND THE MECHANIC ASKED ME HOW DID YOU EVEN DRIVE THIS CAR. I TOLD HIM I HAD NO CLUE ON THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM. THIS SUB FRAME IS SUB PAR AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. IN MY OPINION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONTAL PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,100.
