Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2021 ROGUE SPORT, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. I am reporting a serious safety incident involving my 2021 Nissan Rogue, which caught on fire unexpectedly on Feb. 6, 2026 approximately 4:30 am. The fire originated from the vehicle without warning and posed an immediate danger to life and property. The vehicle was parked at the time of incident. There were no actions taken that would reasonably explain a fire of this nature. This incident could have resulted in severe injury or death. I believe this may be related to a manufacturer defect involving fire risk, and I am submitting this report so NHTSA can investigate and take appropriate safety action to protect other drivers and passengers.
Door lock actuators on driver side doors failed after less than 4 years. Both were âburntâ out according to Nissan tech. Unable to lock, unlock doors. Safety concerns.
I purchased my vehicle in October 2025 for over $20,000, and It just started having issues on December 8, 2025. I have taken it to the dealership and made the head office aware of the issue I am having. The vehicle experiences delayed or absent braking response when brake pedal is applied. Dealership claims no issue found, but the vehicle fails to decelerate as expected, creating an imminent risk of collision. The vehicle has been at the Coggin Nissan dealership in Jacksonville since January 22,2026. I am not receiving any feedback or response on addressing the issue. I am now renting a car for which Nissan headquarters said will reimburse until yesterday but my issue is not resolved and my car is not safe to drive. Thank you for your help on this matter. I was on the freeway, going 65mph. Suddenly, i felt my car partially brake. Thank God I was close to an exit and got off safely. My car partially braked again while i was going 35mph down the street. As i cautiously drove home, the FCW kept blinking, even though there was ample distance between me and other cars, and at times, no car in front of me. It's winter time and there's snow on the ground. This could cause an accident!!!

I was driving on a four lane road, no car in front in my lane, only a car in the lane to the left and a car behind, when the forward collision warning came up and immediately activated the automatic emergency braking. There were no cars or objects in the road ahead that would have triggered the forward collision warning. Fortunately the car behind did not hit me despite the abrupt and unexpected stop. For context, I have had an ongoing issue with this car detecting shadows when in reverse (mostly in my driveway) and thinking they are objects or people, which triggers the automatic emergency braking. On the day of the incident described above the weather condition was sunny.

The radiator fan has failed, causing the air conditioning to not work unless the car is at high speeds, and at low speeds, the engine is at risk of overheating. The issue seems to be a bad bearing in the fan.
2021 Nissan Rogue Sport. While driving, the Forward Collision Warning/Automatic Emergency Braking system will sometimes activate without reason. The vehicle applies the brakes suddenly, even when there are no obstacles, vehicles, or hazards in front of me. This false activation occurs intermittently and poses a safety concern, as it can cause unexpected braking in traffic. The issue has happened under normal driving conditions, without any obstructions on the road.

The engine fan fails causing the fan to move and coolant levels to diminish which causes the engine to over heat.
I am having a problem with my Front Driver Side Door Lock Actuator, because of the faulty actuator, the car door remain unlocked while driving and this is a big safety risk
I believe my cars computer is being hacked. Some things Iâve noticed are stereo issues the volume goes up and down or the music skips intermittently. Some times the music turns off. The collision symbol prompts on the dash. Acceleration issues. Antilock breaks donât work, sometimes. Safety features are being turned off. My maps goes offline. My update for maps in Nebraska isnât listed but all the other states are listed. Awd button doesnât work, sometimes. I am worried for my safety. I took it to Nissan and they updated the sonar component system. It helped some. Stereo issues are still present. Music is still turning off by itself. Volume is still going up and down and the radio not a CD is skipping intermittently. Nissan stated they have no testing to see if any malware has been installed. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs. They are chosing to do nothing at this time.
