THIS WAS A MULTICAR ACCIDENT INVOLVING THE PATHFINDER DRIVEN BY MY SON. THE PATHFINDER WAS STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER CAR (A PRIUS) AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN THE PATHFINDER WAS REAR-ENDED BY A SUV AT FULL SPEED (NO ATTEMPT TO BRAKE). THE SHOCK FROM BEHIND WAS SO VIOLENT THAT THE PATHFINDER HIT THE PRIUS, CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE PATHFINDER (BUMPER, GRILL, ENGINE HOOD, RADIATOR, ETC.) AND THE REAR OF THE PRIUS. THE INSURANCE DECLARED THE PATHFINDER A TOTAL LOSS. DESPITE MAJOR DAMA
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH MICHELIN CROSS TERRAIN TIRES, LINE SIZE 265/70/R15 (N/A). THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIZE TIRE BLEW. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED AGAINST A WALL AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSE BY A ROAD HAZARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO OFFERED TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND INSPECT THE TIRE YET THE VEHICL

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH OVER A SMALL HILL, THE CONTACT MADE A RIGHT TURN AND THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME BUT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL COLLISION CENTER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT DRIVER SIDE STRUT MOUNT WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE APRON AND THE FENDER ASSEMBLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 155,834.
I AM WRITING IN REGARDS TO AN ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED ON 10/10/08 INVOLVING MY 1997 NISSAN PATHFINDER VIN#[XXX] , AND 5 OTHER VEHICLES INCLUDING MY OWN 2ND CAR. ALL OF WHICH WERE PARKED ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE STREET. THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY MY PATHFINDER'S GAS PEDAL FAILURE WHICH CAUSED IT TO STAY AT THE PRESSED DOWN POSITION WHILE GOING AT ABOUT 30MPH, AND I WAS UNABLE TO BRAKE, THUS HITTING THE OTHER 5 CARS. THANKS TO THE PRESENCE OF THESE CARS, MY PATHFINDER WAS ABLE TO STOP AND MY SAFETY

TRAVELING 20-30MPH, REAR-ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR - SIDE PANEL WHERE THE SEAT BELT DISAPPEARS INTO BROKE APART FROM THE SIDE FRAME CAUSING ME TO COME WITHIN 5 TO 6" OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND A BRUISE ON THE BACK OF MY LEFT ARM. I NORMALLY SIT ANYWHERE FROM 12 TO 14 INCHES FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR - CRUSHED RADIATOR AND BUMPER AND GRILL ASSEMBLY DEMOLISHED; CAR WAS TOTALED. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT.
THE GAS PEDAL STUCK AND THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD. THIS OCCURRED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME UPON ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP, AND THE SECOND TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN REVERSE. THIS RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE HITTING A TREE. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED REAR END DAMAGE. *AK *SC *JB

IN ALL EFFORTS TO CONTACT THE NISSAN CO. NOONE WAS INTERESTED IN HEARING MY COMPLAINT. THEY JUST SAID I WASN'T EDUCATED IN WHAT MAKES AN AIRBAG WORK. WITH ALL DO RESPECT I FEEL LIKE A HEAD-ON COLLISSION WITH A TREE AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MILES PER HOUR AN AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY AND IF NOT THEY ARE NOT WHAT SAFETY REGULATORS SAY THEY ARE. *AK
