AFTER READING SEVERAL ARTICLES ON LINE ABOUT THE RUSTING CROSS MEMBER BAR OF THE RADIATOR CORE OF ALL NISSAN ALTIMA AND MAXIMA CARS FROM 1992-2006 AND THEIR RE-BADGED INFINITI CARS I DECIDED TO CHECK MY VEHICLE WHICH ONLY HAS 41500 ORIGINAL MILES AND KEPT IN A GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME OWNING IT. I AM THE FIRST OWNER AND KEPT THIS CAR IN MINT CONDITION. UPON INSPECTION I NOTICED THE CROSS MEMBER BAR OF THE RADIATOR CORE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED IN THE CENTER LIKE WHAT IS AFFECTING ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS MODEL. MY CAR IS WELL CARED FOR AND HAS NO RUST ANYWHERE EXCEPT FOR THIS AREA. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO INFERIOR WORKMANSHIP OF THE STEEL USED AS MOST ALTIMA AND MAXIMA CARS ARE RUSTING IN THIS SPOT AND NOT ONLY IS IT EXPENSIVE TO FIX BUT DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT SUPPORTS VITAL ENGINE COMPONENTS AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IT THE PARTS GIVE WAY UNDER THE RUSTED SUPPORT STRUCTURE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DETACHED FROM THE FIREWALL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP BUT THEY DID NOT DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL WITH MODERATE TO HEAVY PRESSURE (FOR MODERATE TO FAST ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE), THE VEHICLE, ON OCCASION, CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE AFTER RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL. IF THE GAS PEDDLE WAS PRESSED DOWN FIRMLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS, BRAKING HAS LITTLE EFFECT ON CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE. TAPPING THE GAS PEDAL DOES NOT SEEM TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AS IT OCCURS. AFTER SHIFTING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION), THE ACCELERATION SEEMS TO STOP WITHIN ONE SECOND.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE POWER DOOR LOCK LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ALL OF THE DOORS IN THE VEHICLE EXCEPT THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THE DOOR ALSO CANNOT BE UNLOCKED OR LOCKED WITH THE KEY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED TWICE BY TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND THEY BOTH STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE DOOR APART TO MAKE THE REPAIR. THE REPAIR HAS NOT YET BEEN PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THAT THE DEALER DAMAGED THE BATTERY INTENTIONALLY. WHEN THE DEALER WAS REPLACING THE BATTERY CABLE BY TAKING THE STEERING COLUMN APART, THE FORCED USED TO PUT STEERING COLUMN BACKED INTO PLACE CAUSED THE BATTERY TO MESS UP AND BATTERY CABLE BECAME FRACTURED.

DT: 1995 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THE REPLACEMENT TIRES HAD SIDEWALL RIPS AND TEARS. THESES WERE PURCHASED IN 2003; ALL FOUR TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THIS IS A KELLY CHARGER TIRE, 20550/R15TR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE TIRE PROBLEMS WERE DUE TO ROAD HAZARDS. THE CONTACT STILL HAS THE LAST TIRE THAT REMAINED ON THE VEHICLE. IT WAS RIPPED AND HAD JAGGED EDGES ON THE SIDEWALL. THE TEARS AND RIPS WERE ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE. THESE TIRES WERE NEVER ROTATED. TWO TIRES WERE REPLACED ON APRIL 23, 2005. ANOTHER TIRE WAS REPLACED ON OCTOBER 8, 2005, AND ON OCTOBER 17, 2005. THE CONTACT STATED THE TIRE REPLACED ON OCTOBER 8, 2005 ACTUALLY BLEW. OUT. *AK
95 NISSAN ALTIMA SHOWS "AIR BAG WARNING" WITHOUT ANY DISCREPANCIES. I SHOWED MY CAR TO NISSAN DEALER AND HE SAID THAT SENSOR FAILED , SO IT IS SHOWING WARNING. HE SAID THAT WOULD COST ME $900 BUGS. I ASKED THE DEALER TO NOT TO DO ANY WORK ON THIS . I WANT TO LET HIGHWAY SAFETY TO KNOW THIS AND TAKE ACTION ON THIS, REPLACE THE SENSOR FREELY, BECAUSE IT IS NOT DRIVER'S FAULT AND THERE IS NO WEAR AND TEAR AND REMAINING ALL WORKS FINE. *NM

A GREAT DEAL OF OIL IS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT SEAL ON THE TIMING COVER. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 1995 NISSAN ALTIMA AND NISSAN HAS ISSUED AT LEAST THREE SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, TWO SERVICE BULLETINS WERE ISSUED IN THE FIRST YEAR OF PRODUCTION (1995)!! THIS DEFECT REQUIRES A REPAIR COST OF APPROXIMATELY $750, AND SHOULD BE A RECALL WHERE NISSAN BEARS THE COST OF REPLACING SUCH A QUICKLY OCCURRING AND OBVIOUS DEFECT. *JB
CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE TO DISENGAGE WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND COMING OFF A FREEWAY OFF RAMP. I TIRED SEVERAL TIMES PRESSING THE BRAKES TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I FINALLY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO STOP IT. I WAS VERY LUCKY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN MY PATH OR I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM OR CAUSED A ACCIDENT RESULTING IN INJURIES OR DEATH.

DT RECEIVED A NOTICED FROM PERSON I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM. THIS LETTER STATES THAT NISSIAN OFFERING NEW AIR BAG THAT WAS IS MADE BETTER AND TO BE INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE TO ME. IT DOES SOUND LIKE A RECALL. HAVE CONTACTED DEALER THEY SAID THIS DOES NOT SHOW THIS IN THEIR SYSTEMS AND HAD ME TO CONTACT NISSIAN NORTH AMERICA. CONTACTED NISSIAN AND THEY HAD ME FAX THIS LETTER TO THEM ONCE ON MAY 31ST, JUNE 10TH, AND JUNE 23RD. HAVE STILL NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM NISSIAN. HAVE ALSO LEFT MESSAGES AND STILL NO CONTACT BACK FROM NISSIAN. *NM
