VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES BUILT WITH V6 ENGINES TO FEDERAL EMISSION STANDARDS. THE POWER STEERING FLUID FEED TUBE CAN COME IN CONTACT WITH AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD MOUNTED HEAT SHIELD CAUSING A HOLE TO BE WORN THROUGH THE POWER STEERING PIPE ALLOWING FLUID LEAKAGE.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH V6 ENGINES AND FEDERAL EMISSION EQUIPMENT. THE BATTERY CABLE HARNESS CAN BECOME HEAT DAMAGED BY THE FRONT EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHICH COULD CAUSE GROUNDED CIRCUITS.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. A NUT IN THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS NOT PROPERLY TIGHTENED, RESULTING IN SYMPTOMS RANGING FROM STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION TO STIFF STEERING, AND IN THE WORST CASE, NO ABILITY TO TURN LEFT.

I PURCHASED A 2000 MITSUBISHI GALANT BRAND NEW IN JUNE, 2000. ABOUT 18 MONTHS LATER, MY CAR WOULD IMMEDIATELY STOP RUNNING. ALL SYSTEMS WOULD DIE. MY MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED DIFFERENT FIXES ON MANY OCCASIONS, ONLY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM OCCUR AGAIN. FINALLY, MY CAR WAS SENT TO A MASTER MECHANIC AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS SOMETHING TO DO WITH AN ELECTRICAL REGULATOR OR SWITCH. TO MY RECOLLECTION, THE SWITCH COULD ONLY CARRY A 10 AMP LOAD, AND WAS GETTING SHORTED OUT B
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 MITSUBISHI GALANT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED. HE ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE BULB AND NOTICED THAT THE SOCKET WAS MELTED. LAST YEAR, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE MECHANIC REMOVED THE SOCKET, BUT DID NOT STATE WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

ON JULY 1, 2003, WE PURCHASED A USED 2000 MISTIBUSHI GALANT FROM COLONIAL MITIBUSHI IN DANBURY, CONN. ON JULY 2, WE REPORTED TO THEM THE BRAKES DID NOT FEEL RIGHT. IT WAS SLIPPING.
