ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL CABLE LOCK NUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED TO THE PROPER TORQUE SPECIFICATION. THE LOCK NUT MAY LOOSEN AND COME OFF, WHICH WILL REDUCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PARKING BRAKE.

THE CONNECTOR TO THE A/C & HEATER MOTOR WAS CHARRED. DURING INTERNET RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO PARK, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION, BUT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. HE HAD TO START THE IGNITION WHILE IT WAS ROLLING AND APPLY THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE DURING THE FAILURE. AFTERWARDS, HE ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO MOVE THIRTY MINUTES LATER.

1. MY 2005 ENDEAVOR HAS 11,000 KMS, COVERED BY THE WARRANTY (IT HAS LESS THAN A YEAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT. LST FRIDAY I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY TO MY WORK WHEN I FELT THUMPS AND IF IT WERE PULLING BACK AND FORTH. I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT I MANAGED TO PARK, AND WHEN I DID SOMETHING UNDER IT RIPPED OFF AND A HUGE SPOT OF OIL APPEARED. IT LEAKED ALL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID ON THE PAVEMENT. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN LETHAL IF IT WERE ON A ROAD, ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC. NOW MITSUBISHI REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE WARRANTY
