For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall Not Rated/5 rating, with Not Rated/5 front crash, Not Rated/5 side crash, and Not Rated/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2019 ECLIPSE CROSS is electrical system with 4 filings, followed by air bags (4) and steering (3). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 14 investigation files overlapping the 2019 ECLIPSE CROSS. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

The contact owned a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, he became aware that the vehicle was not responding to operator inputsâacceleration, braking, or steering. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle, only coming to a complete stop after, running a stop sign, leaving the roadway, and colliding with a tree and ravine where it came to stop. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. Police officers assisted with removing the contact from the vehicle. The contact sustained various injuries, including bruises, scratches, and cuts, but did not seek medical attention. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

Brakes are season up at only 42,000 miles
Are anyone else having the same problem. The vehicle is stuck in park intermittently and you have to push the button to release the gear shift knob out of park. pretty annoying to have to do this occasionally when before all you had to do was put your foot on the brake squeeze the shift knob lever and remove the vehicle out of park to drive.
know every motor is different and many resources have different stats, The engine in my 2019 Eclipse Cross has excessive oil consumption. The engine is consuming approximately 2.5-quarts (2.3-liters) of oil in approximately 2,500 to 3,000-miles (4,000 to 4,828-kilometers). The vehicle is approximately 4-years old and less than 50,000-miles. Using the best mileage in Mitsubishi's favor and an average of 30 mpg (my car computer has my average mileage higher) the oil consumption rate is at 0.6% for the engine. Ibut the common accepted stat for passenger car oil consumption is 0.05% for new motors. Mitsubishi's motor is consuming 12-times what is considered normal for a motor. This is a well documented problem on the internet, with repairs already required in Australia. Mitsubishi will not contact me (or the Dealer Service Center) back regarding this issue.
It appears the EclipseCross electrical system shut down while traveling in a rain storm causing a accident when engine shut down and steering was affected, this caused vehicle to lose control and hit concrete barrier. Air bags were deployed except for the driver side that took the impact, reason unknown. Vehicle was a total loss as judged by the insurance company. Driver was injured but sustained only minor injuries, but this situation did affect 2 other vehicles. Electrical "glitch" happened once before but was so minor as noted it shut off can came back on while driving it appeared to be a fluke incident.

WHEN I PLUG MY PHONE IN AND SET IT ON THE PASSENGERS SEAT , THE PASSENGERS SIDE AIRBAG AND SEAT-BELT SYSTEM ACTIVATE. THE AIRBAG LIGHT TURNS ON LIKE SOMEONE IS SITING THERE , AND THE FASTEN SEAT BELT LIGHT FLASHES. IF I LIFT THE CHARGING PHONE OFF THE SEAT AND SET IT IN THE CENTER CONSUL , THE SYSTEM RETURNS TO NORMAL - AIRBAG LIGHT AND FASTEN SEAT-BELT LIGHT TURN OFF. I HAD THE SYSTEM CHECKED OUT AT MY DEALERSHIP AND THEIR CONCLUSION IS TO NOT SET ANYTHING ON THE PASSENGERS SEAT , AND IT DOES STATE IN OWNERS MANUAL TO NOT SET ANYTHING ON THE PASSENGERS SEAT. HOWEVER THIS ISSUE ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE PHONE IS PLUGGED IN AND SITTING ON PASSENGER SEAT. THE ISSUE DOES NOT HAPPEN IF ANY OTHER OBJECT IS PLACED ON THE PASSENGERS SEAT OR IF THE PHONE IS UNPLUGGED AND SITTING ON PASSENGER SEAT. THIS ISSUE WILL HAPPEN WEATHER THE CAR IS IN PARK OR DRIVING. THE ISSUE DID NOT BEGIN TO HAPPEN UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 30 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW ON JULY 24 , 2020. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON 11/12/19, PRESSES THE BRAKES IN PREPARATION TO MAKE A TURN. THE BRAKES FAILED AND WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE , THE ABS , BRAKE ASSIST AND HILL ASSIST DID NOT WORK, WHICH RESULTED IN ME BEING UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE . THE END RESULT WAS ME GETTING INTO A COLLISION CAUSING OVER $4000 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE , WITH IT ONLY HAVING 865 MILES AT THE TIME . WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THE HEADLIGHTS ALSO DIDN'T WORK, ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. PLEASE NOTE WHEN THE COLLISION OCCURRED I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET .
