PURCHASED WITH 14,000 FROM DEALER, HAD A MAJOR ENGINE FALURE DUE TO PISTON RING WEAR/FALURE. HAD IT REPAIRED 10,000 AGO MITS PAID FOR PARTS, I PAID $1,200 FOR LABOR. NOW 10,000 MILES LATER I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. THIS IS MY 2ND MITS CAR I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THAT HAD TO BE REBUILT.

ROTORS WERE TURNED ON 6/17/98 DUE TO BEING WARPED, HOWEVER 6 MONTHS LATER ROTORS EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, BRAKES PULSATE WHEN BRAKING, A MECHANIC ADVISED CONSUMER TO REPLACE, HOWEVER IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE TO DO SO. *SLC

SINCE THE PURCHASE DATE OF THIS VEHICLE, EVERY SIX MONTHS, I GET A PULSATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE FIRST TIME, MITSUBISHI DEALER SAID RESURFACE THE ROOTER. THE SECOND TIME, THEY SAID I SHOULD REPLACE THE PADS AND ROOTER, THE THIRD TIME THE WHEEL HUB MAY BE BAD, THE FOURTH TIME I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL GAS STATION AND THE ROOTERS WERE RESURFACED AGAIN AND I FEEL THE PROBLEM HAPPENING AGAIN. THE DEALER HAS CLEARLY SHOWN THAT THEY DONNOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS NOR CAN FIX IT.I GET THIS PULSATION AT ABOUT 45 AND ABOVE ALONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING WHICH ON A RAINY DAY CAN BE BAD.I HAVE SPOKEN TO OVER TEN PEOPLE WITH DIAMANTE'S AND THEY HAVE STATED THEY HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND THEY CANT FIX IT..
IN JULY 1997 I PURCHASED A SET (4) OF GOODRICH COMP T/A, VR4, 205G5R15 TIRES FOR APPROXIMATELY $505. 6 MONTHS LATER I HAD A BLOWOUT LEAVING A SHOPPING CENTER. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT AND HAD IT REPLACED WITH AN IDENTICAL TIRE AT A LOCAL STATION FOR APPROXIMATELY $125. IN DECEMBER 1998 I HAD ANOTHER BLOWOUT WHILE DRIVING TO WORK AND WHILE I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT IT WAS CLOSE. I HAD AN IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT INSTALLED FOR AROUND $110. IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR I NOTICED A GOLF BALL SIZE KNOT ON ONE OF THE TWO REMAINING ORIGINAL TIRES. I'VE HAD IT REPLACED (MY STATION HAS SAVED THE TIRE) FOR ANOTHER $100. THE REMAINING TIRE NOW HAS A SMALL KNOT DEVELOPING ON THE SIDEWALL EXACTLY WHERE THE OTHER TIRE DEVELOPED THE KNOT. I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THIS TIRE ALSO. IN SHORT I BOUGHT A SET OF TIRES THATS HAD TWO BLOWOUTS AND TWO KNOTS REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. A $500 SET OF TIRES HAS COST APPROXIMATELY $900 IN TWO YEARS AND I HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF TIRES THAT HAVE FAILED. IT APPEARS THEY WERE CONSTRUC

TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY DOWNSHIFTS EVERY DAY ON FIRST SLOW BRAKING AFTER COLD START IN MORNINGS. DEALERS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPAIR. THEY SEEM TO HAVE TRACED IT TO A CIRUIT BOARD.
THE SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WILL NOT STAY LATCHED. CAN BUCKLE THE SEAT BELT, BUT IT WILL JUST POP OPEN. THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. *AK
