The contact owned a 2007 Mercedes-Benz R350. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH and approaching traffic, another vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle. The contact slammed on the brakes but the brake pedal failed to respond, causing the front of the vehicle to crash into a second vehicle. The air bags deployed. The passengers of the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The contact sustained a chest burn but did not seek medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an autobody repair shop but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The contact later received recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V315000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic), which he associated with the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. BY THIS TIME I WAS A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND KEPT FEELING DISCOMFORT....GOT TO MY DESTINATION AND PROCEEDED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND MY COAT WAS STUCK TO THE SEAT. I TURNED IT OFF AND NOW DO NOT USE THE SEAT HEATERS. IT GOT HOT IN A FEW MINUTES AFTER STARTING.

I STOPPED THE CAR AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND THERE WAS NO LIGHT FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES OF DRIVING, THEN THE LIGHTS BEGAN AGAIN ABS/ESP AND FLASHING INOPERATIVE LIGHT. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AS IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR AN APPOINTMENT THE FOLLOWING MORNING. THE NEXT MORNING I TRIED STARTING THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START AND STARTED BEEPING INCESSANTLY. THE CAR WAS INOPERATIVE AND WOULD NOT START OR CRANK. I HAD TO CALL MERCEDES BENZ ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO TRANSPORT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS FOUNDED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WAS A WIRING SENSOR PROBLEM CAUSING INACCURATE SIGNALS TO BE SENT TO THE ENGINE.
