Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2023 EQS580 is forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking with 3 filings, followed by unknown or other (3) and electrical system (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 2 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 15 investigation files overlapping the 2023 EQS580. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Just over two months owning the vehicle (bought [XXX]) I was driving on a smaller highway at roughly 35 mph when the car suddenly came to a stop. There were no obstacles front or behind or the sides. It threw me forward. I was aching and in shock, but needed to get out of the left lane so I pushed the gas pedal and the car moved so I could pull into the left turn lane. I did not know what happened. I did not see any lights on the dash. I was not sure what to do but knew I needed to get off this busy road and the Mercedes dealership was just up the road. I carefully drove to the dealership and explained in detail what happened. The Mercedes dealership told me they got a whole new program for the car sent from Germany and they wiped the previous program and put a new one on my car and that the problem was resolved. On [XXX] as I was driving down the road the same incident happened again. It threw me forward and this time I saw a little red triangle on the dashboard that was only there fo

The door handles of the car open and close from the body automatically. However there are no sensors or safety measures before the door handles go back into body. Mulitple times my children were about to open door but handles started closing into body. Luckily they removed hands before getting fingers crushed.
when I was driving on freeway at 40-50 miles/hour with my daughter I started getting messages " Risk of vehicle rolling away" "Active Emergency Stop Assist currently unavailable" " Service required do not change transmission position". I got scared and moved to side safety lane in heavy running traffic. Car stopped and I tried to restart the car but car will not start at all and was getting all those messages. The car has been with the mercedes dealership from last 15 days and Initially after 5 days they mentioned that car needs software udpate and after another week they mentioned car needs replacement of Power Electronics Module.

I was traveling at about 45 miles per hours on a road with no obstacles (no cars in front of me or anything in the road) when the car braked with no warning.
