TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 MERCEDES-BENZ CL550. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT. THE CONTACT'S WIFE SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE LEFT ARM THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF HANOVER (1877 WASHINGTON ST, HANOVER, MA 02339, (781) 924-4200) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT WIRES CONNECTED TO THE WIRING HARNESS WERE MELTED UNDER THE DASHBOARD, WHICH CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AND AN ENGINEER WOULD BE SENT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
