The 2012MERCEDES-BENZC350 carries 39 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2012 C350 is air bags with 27 filings, followed by engine (2) and fuel/propulsion system (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 5 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 15 investigation files overlapping the 2012 C350. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

My carâs left side rear subframe is cracked due to corrosion. I started hearing a weird noise a week ago, and my car suddenly veered to the left side when I pressed the brake. I almost crashed my car because the car moved to the left of the yellow line on the road. I searched about this issue on Google and found that many C-Class owners (W204 generation) are experiencing the same issue due to the design flaws/defects by Mercedes-Benz. Now I have to pay up to $10,000 for the repair that is due to a defective part. In other countries like the UK and South Korea, this issue is covered by Mercedes-Benz, but in the United States, it is not covered. The repair is done at ownerâs expense. I fear driving now because my car steers to the left when I press the brake. The rear subframe must be recalled since this issue is now common to all C-Class models produced in 2008-2014, and if car accidents occur, many people can be killed. I almost crashed my car due to my rotten subframe. Please help

TAKATA RECALL (#17V017) - MY ISSUE WITH THIS RECALL IS THE UNACCEPTABLE TIMELINESS IN MAKING THE NECESSARY REPAIR. IN JANUARY 2017, I WAS NOTIFIED VIA A RECALL LETTER FROM MERCEDES THAT MY CAR'S FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG WAS AFFECTED BY THE TAKATA INFLATOR RECALL AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN A REPAIR WAS AVAILABLE. TO DATE (APRIL 2019), THIS HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED BY MERCEDES AND CURRENTLY, PER THEIR WEBSITE, THERE IS NO TIMELINE ON WHEN THIS REPAIR CAN BE MADE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN TERMS OF THE TIMELINESS OF COMPLETING THIS REPAIR GIVEN THE SERIOUS (AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY) NATURE OF THE FLAW WITH THE TAKATA INFLATORS SHOULD THE AIR BAG DEPLOY. WHEN I ADDRESSED MY CONCERNS REGARDING THE DELAY IN THIS REPAIR WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEIR ADVICE WAS TO AVOID HAVING A PERSON RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT - WHICH IS IMPRACTICAL AND NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE CONSIDERING THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR.

TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED THE RACALL NOTICE FEB.2017 WITH NOTIFICATION OF FURTHER NOTICE ONCE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. FIRST OF LET ME ADDRESS THAT THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND IT IS ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO SINCE FIRST NOTICE. SECOND OF ALL I AM TRYING TO SELL MY CAR BUT DO NOT RECEIVE THE VALUE I SHOULD RECEIVE DUE TO THE OPEN SAFETY RECALL. MY HANDS ARE TIGHT AT THIS POINT AND IT CAN'T BE RIGHT TO LOSE IN VALUE OF THE CAR DUE TO AN OUTSTANDING SAFETY CALL WHICH CAN'T BE ADDRESSED AT THIS POINT. WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS IN ORDER TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY THE SAFETY OF MY MY LIFE AND THE PASSENGERS LIFE. WHO COMES UP WITH THE DIFFERENCE IN VALUE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO REPAIR IN A TIMELY MATTER. I BELIEVE ALMOST 2 YEARS IS PLENTY OF TIME TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. REGARDS
