Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022-2023 EQS 450, AMG EQS, EQS 580, and 2023 AMG EQE vehicles. A software error in the electric drivetrain may cause a loss of drive power.

The contact owned a 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS-Class Sedan. The contact stated that while driving over a bump, the vehicle briefly accelerated unexpectedly. Later, while parked and reaching into the rear seat, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, crossing a concrete barrier, crashing through a glass window, and crashing into a building. The brake pedal was applied, but it responded slowly before eventually stopping the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no injuries, fire, or air bag deployment. A police report was filed. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the incident. The vehicle was towed to a lot, where it was subsequently damaged in a fire that started in an adjacent vehicle. The insurance company has deemed the vehicle a total loss. The contact was informed that they would obtain the Black Box/Event Data Recorder (EDR). The failure mileage was approximately 25,660.

I am receiving error messages like the following in its entirety. I am getting the email several time a day. I am worried its will be a safety issue during driving. The car was in dealer shop for 4 days and I picked the car with this error message. **************enclosure************************ Mercedes-Benz connect: battery monitor – very low state of charge EQS 450+ Hi HANG, The state of charge of the starter battery in the vehicle EQS 450+ is very low. In order to retain the starting ability of your vehicle, we recommend that you connect a charging device or drive the vehicle for 30 to 60 minutes. 20220829STRUCTURE:BODY

The contact owns a 2022 Mercedes-Bens AMG EQS. The contact stated that due to the vehicle's design, the backseats are suitable to transport occupants of a certain height. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, he hit a bump on the road which caused his nephew to hit his head on the vehicle's ceiling while seated in the backseat. His nephew suffered an injury to his head which resulted in persistent headaches which lasted for approximately two to three weeks. His nephew had yet to seek medical attention for his injury. The dealer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and he was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

left side driver and right side passenger airbag light indicated on need for service appear on 5/25/2022 at merccedez benz dealership. Test drove this car on 5/25/2022 from the dealership knowingly aware on thier part with the light indicator on and did not disclose to customer placing customer safety in danger. Not inspected until until 6/7/2022 . Mercedes benz service maintenance changed driver side knee airbag and did not fixed the problem. Then was told by service advisor they do not know how to fix the car and will reach out to engeneering at germany.
