THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE -> NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 17V393000 HOWEVER, MAZDA FAILED TO INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER (ALONG WITH POTENTIALLY THOUSANDS OF OTHER 2014 MAZDA 3'S) AS A PART OF THE RECALLED LIST. BECAUSE OF THIS MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND MY SAFETY AND WELL BEING, ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHER, ARE STILL AT RISK. MAZDA ONLY RECALLED 2014-2016 MAZDA 3'S BUILT AT THEIR MEXICO PLANT AND 2014-2016 MAZDA 6'S BUILT AT THEIR HOFU PLANT IN JAPAN. MY CAR WAS BUILT AT THE HOFU PLANT IN AUGUST OF 2013 (AS A 2014 MODEL) AND USES THE SAME DEFECTED PART THAT WERE BEING PUT IN THE MAZDA 6'S THERE. THE MEXICO PLANT DID NOT OPEN AND START PRODUCING MAZDA 3'S UNTIL JANUARY 2014. THIS MEANS THERE IS A SET OF 2014 MAZDA 3'S THAT WERE BUILT AT THE HOFU PLANT. I SUSPECT THAT WHEN MAZDA DID THE RECALL, THEY FORGOT/MISSED THE RANGE OF VIN NUMBERS OF THE MAZDA 3'S THAT WERE BUILT AT THE HOFU PLANT IN JAPAN.

MAZDA SENT A NOTICE TO OWNERS OF A SAFETY RECALL REGARDING THE RUSTPROOF COATING ON THE LIFT GATE STAY DAMPERS. THE DEFECT COULD CAUSE CORROSION THAT MAY CAUSE THE LIFT GATE TO DROP SUDDENLY. THIS NOTICE WAS SENT IN OCTOBER 2016 AND THE "REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" ACCORDING TO THE MAZDA WEBSITE...IT IS NOW MARCH 2017. IN ANOTHER MATTER, MAZDA IS AWARE THAT THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THEIR ELECTRONICS SYSTEMS "READING" A NEW TIRE ON THE VEHICLE. THIS CAUSES THE AIR TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT TO REMAIN ON, LEAVING THE OWNER TO NOT KNOW WHEN THE TIRE(S) ACTUALLY NEED ATTENTION. WHEN BROUGHT TO A LOCAL MAZDA DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT MAZDA IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT BUT IS CURRENTLY CHARGING THE CUSTOMER TO HAVE DIAGNOSTICS RUN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, RATHER THAN ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS A DEFECT FOR WHICH MAZDA IS RESPONSIBLE. I WAS SHOWN AN INTERNAL LETTER TO THIS EFFECT. NOT ONLY IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT THE LIGHT BEING ON ALSO PROHIBITS THE VEHICLE FROM PASSING INSPECTION IN SOME CASES. TO THAT I WAS TOL
