1995 MAZDA 6, CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG EXPLOSIONS DOES NOT INCLUDE CARS MANUFACTURED BEFORE THE YEAR 2000...UPDATED 02/12/15*BF THE CONSUMER STATED HER SON WAS DRIVING, WHEN SUDDENLY THE AIR BAGS SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED, FILLING THE FRONT OF THE CAR WITH SMOKE AND FLYING SHRAPNEL IN ADDITION TO THE DEFLATED MATERIAL FROM THE AIR BAG ITSELF. HER SON'S HAND WAS BURNED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR BAG EXPLOSION WAS NOT THE RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND, NOT EVEN A POT HOLE OR ROUGH ROAD. *JB

I BOUGHT MY 1995 MAZDA 626 AUTOMATIC NEW AT ABOUT 57000 MILES(JUST OUT OF WARRANTY) THE O/D LIGHT BEGAN BLINKING AND THE TRANSMISSION RAN ROUGH ESP. BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. MAZDA WANTED ME TO PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION IN AT A COST OF $1700,WHICH I DECLINED. NOW WITH 140000 MILES,I HAVE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION RE-BUILT AT A COST OF $2100. I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS HAS BEEN A WIDE-SPREAD PROBLEM WITH MAZDA'S AND I THINK THEY SHOULD COVER THEIR PARTS AND STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! *TR

I GOT IT FIXED IN MARCH OF 2008 FOR THE PROBLEMS STATED ABOVE AND AGAIN IN SEPT 2008 FOR SAME PROBLEMS BUT WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY. THEY SAID ITS BECAUSE 2 OUT OF THE 4 CYLINDERS ARE REALLY LOW. IF THAT'S THE CASE WHY DIDN'T THE OTHER COMPANY ADVISE ME OF THAT SAME PROBLEM. NOW THE CAR WON'T START. I HAVE TALKED WITH OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CAR ND THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE LAST SERIOUS ISSUE WAS THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD AND 1 YEAR OLD. THROUGH RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT NUMEROUS PEOPLE WITH THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT A REPAIR SHOP, BUT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 177,000.
