I HAVE A 1994 MAZDA 626. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BURNT OUT ONE MONTH AFTER A FACTORY RECONDITIONED TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED IN IT. I WAS STRANDED ON I-84 IN PORTLAND OREGON WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THERE WAS NO SHOULDER ON THE INTERSTATE AND WAS STRANDED IN THE RIGHT LANE. I WAS SIDE SWIPED AND SLIGHTLY INJURED. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH BOARD. THE CAR CUT OFF. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, RAISED THE HOOD. THE WIRE THAT COMES OUT OF THE DASH BOARD WAS RED. ABOUT 20 SECONDS LATER, SMOKE CONSUME THE CAR AND THE DASH BOARD WAS ON FIRE. THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WAS BURNED. FROM THE DASH BOARD TO THE TRUNK. THE FIRE REPORT SAID IT WAS ELECTRIAL PROBLEM.

WHEN VEHICLE REAR ENDED A FORD EXPEDITION, TRAVELING BETWEEN 20-25 MPH, THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF EITHER AIR BAG. THE FENDER, HOOD, HEADLIGHTS, ETC WERE ALL PUSHED BACK TO THE MOTOR. OWNER NOT SURE IF VEHICLE WILL BE TOTALLED. *AK
