Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2019 Levante vehicles equipped with full LED headlights with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS). The headlights may be misadjusted above the maximum height allowed, possibly impairing other driver's visibility on the roadway. As such,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 MASERATI LEVANTE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPED ON A HILL, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY SHUT-OFF AND ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO MOVE FORWARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE TOUCH SCREEN WAS OVERHEATING. THE TEMPERATURE INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 120 DEGREES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOCH MASERATI (THE AUTOMILE, 441 PROVIDENCE HWY, NORWOOD, MA 02062, (888) 364-7175) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000. INVALID VIN.

THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH MY WIFE AND CHILD IN A BUSY INTERSECTION( IN MOTION) AND WOULD NOT START FOR OVER 20 MINS . SHE COULD NOT EVEN GET THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE WAY ( VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALLOW) . I RETURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ( STALLING TWICE ON THE WAY BUT THANKFULLY IT RESTARTED AFTER A 5 MIN SHUTOFF) .
