Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2017 MKX is electrical system with 10 filings, followed by service brakes, hydraulic (8) and engine (7). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 5 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 15 investigation files overlapping the 2017 MKX, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. I received a recalled noticed regarding a potential brake(s) failure. Currently the manufacture does not have sufficient parts and does not provide any ETA on when parts do become available. In the light of the situation, I would rather filed a complaint than risking my life or the lives of others due to the manufacture unable to provide the need parts to resolved this serious issue. I am taking proactive steps to protect myself before I find myself in the worst case scenario.

I recently had some touch up work done on my car. While in I had an estimate done on my headlights because they constantly had condensation and moisture inside the light cover, This is at all times of the day and especially challenging in the winter months when there was ice frozen over. My body shop called the local dealer to get pricing on parts. Can provide the body shop and dealership if needed. When talking to the service department they informed my body shop that they had issues with the original install of these lights and the seals were compromised letting moisture in that could not easily leave. This explains why, not one, but both of my lights are doing the same thing and compromising my safety especially at night. They are only giving out partial light due to having heavy condensation or ice covering the internal side of the headlight. This is not an issue that would activate any warning lamps or messages just visual compromised.

Brake line failure. Had local repair shop repair brakes and realign, because I had to jump a curb at 40mph to avoid collision. Ford refuses (thru nonresponsive) to pay damages. Recall repaired weeks later by plate valley ford of Kearney NE.
I took Automobile in for 4 new tires and the tire shop had to replace 5 Lug Nuts.

While driving on interstate 271/480 my check engine light started flashing and my car suddenly died putting me in harms way as I tried navigating 3 lanes to get to the berm. It was towed to 2 different Lincoln dealerships where they both confirmed the engine lost compression and would need a full replacement. This vehicle is only a 2017 and 100K miles and shouldn't have total engine failure at that age. I read articles on NHTSA investigating Ford engines and feel this may have a similar engine issue and is worth investigating. Please let me know how I can assist.
The contact owns a 2017 Lincoln MKX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop. The contact stated that the brake pedal had to be manually raised to the normal upright position. Upon visual inspection, the contact observed brake fluid leaking from the rear brake lines underneath the vehicle. The brake fluid warning light was illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the passengerâs side rear brake hose had ruptured. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure later occurred on the driverâs side rear brake hose. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Lug nuts are swollen and almost impossible to remove. I could not change a flat tire. Firestone insisted that I needed to replace the lug nuts. Apparently this is a known Ford/Lincoln problem.
Was told from FORD that the lug nuts are swelling and need replaced at$179! I have had many brands of vehicles and have never heard of this before
