The 2015LINCOLNMKS carries 28 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 2 fires, 1 injury, and 0 fatalities. For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall 5/5 rating, with 5/5 front crash, 5/5 side crash, and 4/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2015 MKS is engine with 5 filings, followed by electrical system (4) and power train (3). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 15 investigation files overlapping the 2015 MKS, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Backup camera fails to initialize in reverse causing a safety concern by not knowing whatâs behind you.
In early 2024 the parking aids failed. Then the heater air conditioning buttons. Now the voice commands, Navigation and back up camera have failed. No accidents resulted , but this ia a large car and when shifting from reverse to drive screen remains blank.
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKS. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH or faster, the vehicle lost automotive power. During the failure the vehicle was coasted over to the side of the road and turned off for one minute before the vehicle restarted and continued driving. The failure was intermittent but had occurred twice within 10 minutes during the most recent failure. An unidentified warning light was illuminated during the failure. The failure occurred mainly while driving on highways or freeways. The rear-view camera intermittently failed to display an image of the rear of the vehicle. The failure had become more persistent over time. During an oil change, it was discovered that the drive axle from the rear to the front of the vehicle was leaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown

The front sensor to bumper coming up to check ok at every time you start the vehicle. In-between 30mph to 50mph It hesitates and feels like it's jumping in and out, if you do a hard acceleration you don't feel it, not sure if it's through the fuel system for the transmission. Check to see if codes were coming up with the machine and the vehicle shows no codes, With heartbreaking the front will shimmy

Steering gear for power assistance failed while driving and the steering gear had to be replaced. Car became very difficult to steer. Luckily was not driving at speed and it happened in a parking lot. I live in a mountainous area with lots of curves. Could have easily resulted in an accident. Was able to drive back home slowly as it happened while in my sub-division. Had to have car towed to the nearest dealer for repairs as it was unsafe to drive at speed.
I have noticed a coolant leak that is the result of a faulty water pump design. To make it worse, the rocket scientists at Ford Motor Company buried the water pump internally in the engine. It is a very expensive repair on what should be a component bolted to the exterior of the engine. There are numerous Class Action Lawsuits against FMC for this matter. I think a recall should be issued or compensation for repairs on what is a very expensive endeavor. My wife drives this car. I am going through the repair process. FMC is known to have hidden the problem. Please issue a recall so people are not burdened by a bad corporate decision. Faulty water pumps can cause engine failure resulting in an accident on the public roadway. Cars should have building codes that forbid these stupid designs. Cars should be designed to be easier to repair with modularity. As a government agency, this is in the public interest to make FMC accountable for their faulty design and issue a recall or co

The vehicle is exhausting leaked fluid through the vents inside cabin at 23,000 miles causing headaches and fatigue. The Power transfer unit does not allow for maintenance and has no drain plug. The unit seems to fail alot with Fords when looking online. It is dangerous for the driver to smell this inside the cabin.
