TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 LINCOLN MARK VIII. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND CAUSED A CRASH. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE FIRE WALL AND THE DASHBOARD WERE AFFECTED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SPLICE THE WIRES ENOUGH TO START THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE NO PHOTOS AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. AS HE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE, HE TRIED TO PULL OVER BUT THE FIRE HAD CAUSED THE BRAKES TO GO OUT, HE AND HIS PASSENGER WERE KILLED ON IMPACT OF A TREE, MY SON TRIED AS MUCH AS HE COULD WITHOUT BRAKES TO AVOID. BOTH BODIES WERE BURNED BEYOND RECOGNITION. FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNEW THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH ON MY CAR WAS THE SAME ONE THEY HAD ALREADY RECALLED, BUT IF THEY RECALLED ALL OF THEM IT WOULD HAVE CAUS

I OWN A 1993 LINCOLN MARK VIII AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TERRIBLE. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE DIM LIGHT OUTPUT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE THE DESIGN OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS FLAWED WHICH CAUSES THE PLASTIC TO BURN AND THE REFLECTORS TO BE DAMAGED. FORD SHOULD REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY OR UPGRADE THE MARK VIII'S WITH THE BAD DESIGN TO HID LIGHTS. *NM

I WANT LINCOLN TO RECALL THE EARLY CARS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.I WAS NOT THE OWNER WHEN THE CAR CRASHED I HAVE BEEN COPING WITH THIS PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR THOUGH, AND I KNOW THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE MADE RIGHT! THE HEAD LAMPS OF THIS CAR ARE SMALL WITH MAKES IT HARD ENOUGH TO SEE BUT THEY EASILY TURN A YELLOW COLOR THAT CAN'T BE CLEANED. IT'S VERY HARD TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND MOST OF THE TIME I USE MY HIGH BEAMS. I'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT AT LEAST TWICE, AT NIGHT, ONCE SOMEONE PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT THE OTHER TIME THEY WERE MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO THE STREET I WAS ON, AND DIDN'T SEE MY CAR. THE 1996 MARK VIII CAME WITH VERY GOOD HID HEAD LAMPS, I BELEIVE ALL OF THESE CARS NEED TO HAVE THEM.
I HAVE RECENTLY HIT A DEER RAN OVER A RACOON AND NEARLY HIT ABOUT 3 MAIL BOXES. THESE HEADLIGHTS ARE LIKE CANDLESTICKS. WHEN THE ROAD IS DAMP YOU MIGHT AS WELL TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF. THE REVERSE LIGHTS ON THIS CAR ARE BRIGHTER THAN THE HEADLIGHTS. NO JOKING. THIS CAR NEEDS THE REPLACEMENT HID CONVERSION THAT WAS OFFERED IN THE SAME BODYSTYLE IN 1996.
