20251215ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

While driving on the expressway, multiple system warning lights suddenly appeared on the dash with the message 'engine failsafe mode'. The engine immediately shut off and I lost power steering and power brakes while moving at highway speed. I was able to coast to the shoulder and the truck would not restart. The vehicle ran perfectly prior to this malfunction and there was no warning that a problem may exist. A mechanic determined that the Power Control Module (PCM) was corrupted and required reprogramming. I purchased a refurbished PCM and had it programmed by a locksmith to my VIN. The faulty PCM is still in my possession and available for inspection. This is a very dangerous condition that could have resulted in a crash. Fortunately, this malfunction occurred on a Saturday morning with light traffic during daylight hours. I am scared this will happen again in the future because the cause for the PCM failure is unknown. The towing fee, diagnosis and repair created a considerable fi

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MARK LT. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO THE DRIVEWAY, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY ACCELERATED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE AND A TREE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A RIB INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BOB SIGHT FORD (610 NW BLUE PKWY, LEE'S SUMMIT, MO 64063, (816) 524-6550), BUT NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

UPON ENTERING GA 400 NORTHBOUND FROM US 285 WEST IN ATLANTA, I STRUCK AN OBJECT IN THE ROADWAY RESULTING IN A DELAYED BLOWOUT APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS LATER ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. THIS RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE CAUSING IT TO PULL HARD TO THE LEFT. I CROSSED 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC, STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE REAR IN THE THIRD LANE AND THEN CONTINUING ACROSS TWO OTHER LANES AND STRIKING THE CENTER CONCRETE DIVIDER WALL HEAD ON. THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY ON IMPACT. I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT AT THE TIME. I SUSTAINED MULTIPLE RIB FRACTURES, INTERNAL INJURIES RESULTING IN BLEEDING, AND FACIAL LACERATIONS. I SPENT 15 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL RECOVERING. *TR
