TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN RECALL # 05V017000( VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL). THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE . THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 120,000.

A FIRE WHICH STARTED OUTSIDE IN THE CARPORT DESTROYED MY HOME, MY 2000 LINCOLN TOWNCAR, A BERETTA, AND AN OLDER FORD 150 TRUCK ON JANUARY 16, 2005. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER THE LINCOLN TOWNCAR SIGNATURE POSSESSED THE CRUISE CONTROL MECHANISMS WHICH ARE CAUSING FIRES TO IGNITE EVEN WHEN ENGINE IS OFF. I READ AN ARTICLE WHICH STATED THAT FORD DID NOT CHANGE THE CRUISE CONTROLS UNTIL 2004. *JB

ON MARCH 7, 2005, I WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN OUR 2000 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. I HEARD A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE AND A LOUD EXPLOSION AS THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW. WE TRIED TO CHANGE THE TIRE AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT COIL SPRING HAD SHEARED IN HALF, AND EXPLODED INTO THE TIRE. WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED, AS IT WAS UNDRIVEABLE. THE MECHANIC AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR RECOMMENDED THAT WE REPLACE THE OTHER THREE COIL SPRINGS AS WELL BECUASE HE SAID THA

I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 18 DEC 04. WE WERE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO CHANGE. A VEHICLE STRUCK MY CAR FROM BEHIND. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK. THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH CAUSED MY BODY TO JERK FORWARD HITTING MY HEAD ON THE DASHBOARD. *JB
