Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2019 UX200 is structure:body with 1 filings, followed by vehicle speed control (1) and unknown or other (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 3 investigation files overlapping the 2019 UX200. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. I LEASED THE 2019 LEXUS UX 200 FOR MY DAUGHTER IN NOVEMBER 2019. MY DAUGHTER WAS PARKING THIS CAR IN OUR GARAGE IN FEB 2020. AS PER THE ADVERTISED LEXUS PRE-COLLISION FEATURE FOR THIS MODEL, THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO COME TO AN AUTOMATIC STOP WHEN IT DETECTS AN OBJECT IN FRONT OF IT. THE CAR DID NOT DETECT THE REFRIGERATOR IN FRONT OF IT AND CRASHED INTO IT. SINCE THAT DAY, MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN AFRAID OF DRIVING. I REACHED OUT TO LEXUS AND ASKED THEM FOR THEIR HELP BUT THEY HAVEN'T RESPONDED DESPITE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. DETAILS FROM LEXUS WEBSITE: HTTPS://WWW.LEXUS.COM/SAFETY "SHOULD IT DETECT A POTENTIAL FRONTAL COLLISION, IT CAN HELP AUTOMATICALLY BRAKE THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. " THE LEXUS UX DID NOT BEHAVE AS THE ABOVE LINE SAYS AND ALSO WHAT I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. *TR
