Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Lexus) is recalling certain 2022 NX250, NX350, NX350h, and NX450h+ vehicles. Missing spot-welds between the body panels and the front shock absorber mounting areas may cause the front shock absorber to separate from the mounting area.

The contact owns a 2022 Lexus NX350. The contact stated while at the carwash and shifting from park (P) to drive (D) the vehicle failed to respond, causing the vehicle behind to hit the rear of his vehicle. The tailgate and the rear bumper sustained minor damage. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags did not to deploy. There was no injury sustained. The contact shifted into park, turned off, and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent out a field technician, who diagnosed that no issues were found. The manufacturer later sent an email to the contact, stating that the incident occurred due to the fact that he panicked. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
