AFTER REPLACING TIRES, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CAR SHAKES. REPLACED THE REPLACEMENT TIRES WITH A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER AND TREAD TYPE AND STILL HAVE THE SAME VIBRATION AT THE SAME SPEED(S). TIRE PLACE PUT A TOTAL OF 10 TIRES ON THE VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL AND ROAD FORCE BALANCED THE TIRES. RECOMMENDED I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP SAID THAT ONLY THE EXACT TIRES THAT CAME ON THE CAR WOULD GUARANTEE THE CAR WOULDN'T SHAKE. THEY ROADFORCE BLANCHED THE SAME TIRES AND CAME UP WITH VASTLY DIFFERENT RESULTS 2 WEEKS APART. WHEN ASKED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE TIRES THAT CAME ON THE VEHICLE WOULD BE DISCONTINUED THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. SO, IN SHORT, LEXUS HAS MADE A VEHICLE THAT, ONCE THE OEM SELECTED TIRES ARE DISCONTINUED, WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE A SMOOTH RIDE.

THIS OCCURRED TWICE MORE. CAR PARKED IN A PUBLIC PARKING AREA-IT HAS YET TO HAPPEN IN OUR DRIVEWAY, BUT AFTER READING ABOUT PEOPLE FORGETTING TO TURN OFF THEIR PUSHBUTTON START AUTOS AND SUCCUMBING TO EXHAUST GAS I WONDER IF THEY REALLY FORGOT OR THE CAR SELF STARTED LIKE OURS..

TRAVELING ON ON H-1 EAST FREEWAY, NEAR THE RADFORD PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS, IN HONOLULU, HAWAII, ON WAY TO AIRPORT WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AND DID NOT WORK, CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. REPEATED COMPRESSION OF BRAKES FAILED TO SLOW OR STOP VEHICLE. BRAKES FAILED CAUSING DRIVER TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 LEXUS NX200T. WHILE DRIVING 11 MPH INTO A GARAGE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED INTO THE BACK WALL OF THE GARAGE. ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. BOTH THE DRIVER AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT WOULD FOLLOW UP ON THE FAILURE, BUT THE CONTACT WAS STILL AWAITING A CALL BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,500.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO QUICK RELEASE BUTTON OR METHOD TO MAKE THE SEAT BELT RETRACT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HAD TO CUT THE BELT FROM AROUND HER SON'S NECK TO PREVENT HIM FROM CHOKING. THE CHILD WAS NOT INJURED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,500.

THE FRONT SEATS IN THE 2017 LEXUS NX MODELS ARE FIXED AND SLANTING FORWARD TO A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ANGLE, THIS PICTURE IS FROM AN ADD ON THE LEXUS SIGHT. IT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINTS ONLINE. THIS SEAT POSITION PROMOTES POOR POSTURE AND FATIGUE WHEN DRIVING MORE THAN 30 MINUTES. THE CANADIAN MODELS OF SAME CAR BUT HAVE ADJUSTABLE HEAD RESTS, FOR THE US OWNERS THIS IS $700 PER HEAD REST BUT NOT AVAILABLE TO US RESIDENTS. LEXUS WILL NOT DO ANYTHING AND THE CORPORATE OFFICE ONLY CALLS YOU BACK TO SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO OR WILL DO. I THINK IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE TO THIS BAD NECK POSITION....IF YOU ARE IN A REAR END COLLISION IN THIS VEHICLE I CAN ONLY ASSUME YOU WILL HAVE A NECK INJURY AND POSSIBLE PARALYSIS. SOMETHING MUST ME DONE. ON LINE OTHERS COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME ISSUE ARE TAKING THE REAR HEAD RESTS AND INSTALLING THEM ON THE FRONT SEATS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. PURCHASED A NEW 2017 LEXUS NX ON MAY 28, 2017. ON JUNE 23, 2017 WHILE WASHING CAR FOR FIRST TIME, I SAW A CRACK/SPLIT IN TIRE SIDEWALL ABOUT 3-4" LONG. ADVISED DEALER IT WAS DEFECT. DEALER ARGUES IT COULD HAVE BEEN DUE TO HITTING A CURB. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY ACCIDENTS, RUNNING OVER NAILS OR SCREWS OR HITTING ANYTHING WITH THE TIRE/CAR. THIS TIRE IS DRIVER REAR SIDE AND I FEAR A BLOWOUT COULD OCCUR. THE CRACK HAS MOST LIKELY BEEN PRESENT SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THERE ARE NO SCUFFS, MARKS, ETC. ON TIRE. I HAVE PHOTOS BUT NO PLACE TO ATTACH THEM HERE.
