The 2007LEXUSLS carries 57 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 2 crashes, 0 fires, 2 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2007 LS is service brakes with 19 filings, followed by unknown or other (6) and electrical system (5). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 3 investigation files overlapping the 2007 LS. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus LS460. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while responding. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no diagnostic trouble codes were retrieved; however, the contact was informed that the failure was related to the knock sensors. The contact related the failure to TSB: L-SB-0122-17, which the contact stated was to be performed after the completion of NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V309000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) to prevent the engine hesitation while driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

My vehicle brake, ABS, lights are on the dashboard, Lexus has deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive due to the brake actuator being faulty causing internal damage to the ABS, junction box this is a $5000 repair, upon my research I find that service bulletin were issued years ago about this from Lexus and they reimbursed or repaired these issues during a good will campagne they initiated, was advised by a Lexus member of corporate that the letter came out for my vehicle but I was not the owner at the time, they are now saying its expired and nothing they can do. This does not waive their responsibility of this defect, which is not a wear and tear item. I have tried to allow Lexus to remedy this situation only to be hit with resistance. Please see attached

This car has a melty / sticky peeling interior defect issue. I bought my 2007 LS 460L in October 2019. I had my daughter a year later. As she grew and rode in the vehicle she started scrapping and consuming the door panel. I did not know the interior could be consumed, as I did not think about eating the interior pieces. Kids think differently. My family is at health risk from this consumable interior. I'm trying to get Pines Lexus to fix this issue but they say too much time has passed and I have to pay for this myself. I purchased the vehicle in 2019, they did not warn me of the car's defects and safety issues. The interior should be a safety recall with no expiration. Please assist.
The brake actuator is a well known failure component with these cars and yet no recall has been issued. It's almost $4,000 to repair this defective component.

I have purchased 3 tires through Amazon. 2 tires on February 14th 2023 and 1 tire on July 25th 2023. I have since replaced 2 tires due to them being defective. The latest tire purchased February 14th 2023 now has a bubble on the tire. All tires have been professionally installed and balanced. I would like to get this resolved as soon as possible. Tires should last longer than this. I have attached invoices and pictures. Multiple attempts have been made to contact Amazon and Turbo Wholesale without any resolve. For the Ls460, there was a recall due to interior component deterioration during Covid. I believe that during COVID lockdowns, dealerships were understaffed, as I was unable to schedule an appointment. When I contacted after the COVID lockdowns were over, I was informed that I was unable to complete the recall. The interior of the car is now deteriorating far worse. How can I get an extension of this recall?
We were driving to Fort Bragg, CA on Hwy 20 W of Willits, CA in the mountains out of cell service, and the car was surging like it was out of gas, would not respond to throttle input, then just died. This put us in danger because we were heading down a steep hill on a narrow 2 lane road, and could easily have lost control from loss of braking and handling due to loss of power steering & power brakes. I was able to coast a few yards and immediately pull off into a small cut out on a corner and stop. I have no idea if the recall to fix the defective valve springs was completed on this car because I purchased it used in 2015. I had previously mentioned it to the Roseville CA Lexus Service department, and he dismissed it as the "car recalibrating itself" after every oil change. There were no warning lights or messages until the engine died, then all the lights came on immediately. Once we pulled over, I tried to restart and it would not start. We had over 1/2 a tank of gas, and the

Lexus whom parent company is Toyota manufactured the 2007 Lexus LS 460. This Lexus was manufactured with a dangerous part which is the Brake Actuator. This part fails leaving the vehicle unable to move. Which is very dangerous to consumers as this can happen anywhere at anytime. Lexus acknowledges this mistake and fixed some vehicles when in fact a recall should have been placed to fix them all. This was unfair as many consumers are purchasing these vehicles not knowing of this issue (even when Lexus Toyota did).
LEXUS HAD RECEIVED NUMEROUS REPORTS WHERE VARIOUS BRAKE SYSTEM RELATED WARNING LAMPS ILLUMINATE DUE TO INTERNAL MALFUNCTIONS OF THE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. WHILE MY 2007 LS 460'S BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED UNDER THIS RECALL/WARRANTY AND WAS REPLACED 3 YEARS AGO, MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THE LEXUS'S RECALL LETTER DATED APRIL 19, 2016 TO ME STATED THAT THE PRIMARY COVERAGE OFFERS WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2017, REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE AFTER THE PRIMARY COVERAGE END, THE SECONDARY COVERAGE IS APPLICABLE FOR 10 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF FIRST USE, OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. LEXUS IS REFUSING TO REPLACE THE FAULTY BRAKE ACTUATOR. THIS CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE FOR MOST OF THE LS 460 VEHICLES THAT HAD THE BRAKE ACTUATORS REPLACED.

THERE IS A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE WHICH CAN CAUSE THE BRAKING SYSTEM TO FAIL COMPLETELY. I DO LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND SOME LIGHTS LIKE ABS , TRACTION , BRAKE AND WARNING TURN ON AND MY BRAKE SYSTEM STARTS BEHAVING BAD. AFTER SOME RESEARCH AND TALKING TO LEXUS DEALERSHIP I FOUND OUT THAT THIS MODEL HAS A DESIGN DEFECT AND THE BRAKE ACTUATOR GO BAD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT SHOULD BE A RECALL BUT LEXUS INSTEAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THIS ITEM AND HAVE REPLACED THIS DEVICE FOR FREE ON THESE MODELS BUT WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID WARRANTY IS NOT GOING TO COVER IT AND I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET. IT COSTS ROUGHLY $3000 PARTS AND LABOR. I DO NOT WANT TO SELL MY CAR IN THIS CONDITION AS I DO NOT WANT THE BUYER TO DIE FROM IT. LOT OF PEOPLE ARE BUYING THESE CARS WITHOUT KNOWING THAT THERE IS A BIG RISK AND THEY MAY LOOSE THEIR LIVES. I REQUEST SAFETY ADMINISTRATION TO COME FORWARD AND LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AND SAVE 100S OF LIVES. JUST IMAGINE YOU ARE DRIVING ON H

WHEN DRIVING WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON VSC(VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL), TRACTION CONTROL, CHECK ENGINE; WARNING TEXT TO TAKE TO DEALER. THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK AND THE PERFORMANCE OF THE MOTOR DECLINED, LOSS OF POWER AND EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE. WHEN STATIONARY UPON INSPECTION BOTH HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMPS THAT RESIDE IN THE REAR TOP OF THE VALVE COVERS SHOWED SIGNS OF LEAKING GASOLINE AND OIL. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS SO BAD THAT THE CHANCE OF IGNITING WAS IMMINENT, AS IT LEAKED ONTO THE EXHAUST BELOW AND CAME IN CONTACT WITH AN O2 SENSOR DIRECTLY BELOW ON THE ENGINE BLOCK, THAT HAS AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 170K MILES. AT 85K MILES THE RECALL #10V30900 (VALVE SPRINGS) WAS PERFORMED. UPON INVESTIGATION THIS RECALL WAS INCOMPLETE AS IT DID NOT INCLUDE A SERVICEABLE PART GASKET #2322438010 THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE "VALVE SPRING KIT"#0400037338. THIS GASKET IS ALWAYS REPLACED WHEN THE FUEL PUMPS ARE REMOVED. IT RESIDES IN THE VALVE COVER UNDER THE RE
