RACK AND PINION SEAL IS LEAKING. DEALER RECOMMENDS REPLACEMENT OF SYSTEM FOR A COST OF $1,600.00. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE VERY PREMATURE FOR A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE, WITH RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE AND A PEDIGREE THAT SPEAKS OF THE RELENTLESS PURSUIT OF PERFECTION. LEXUS CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTACTED BY TELEPHONE BUT THEY WERE UNRESPONSIVE TO MY REQUEST FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I HAVE DRIVEN MOST OF MY CARS WELL BEYOND THE CENTURY MARK.!!!! ******DIMSII IVOQ ENTRY POSTED AFTER 12/1202 CUT-OVER TO ARTEMIS****728178
