THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY DUE TO THE GLARE IMPAIRING HER VISION OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DASHBOARD WAS PREVIOUSLY COVERED HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE COVERED REPAIR ON PRIOR MAINTENANCE VISITS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT TWO LETTERS REGARDING THE MELTING DASHBOARD WAS MAILED TO THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LETTERS WERE NOT RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHEN IT WAS TOWED, IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 24 HOURS BEFORE THE POWER STEERING WOULD RETURN TO NORMAL. THE CONTACT CALLED OURISMAN LEXUS OF ROCKVILLE (LOCATED AT 15501 FREDERICK RD, ROCKVILLE, MD 20855, 855-821-1390) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECU AND THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS BECAUSE THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE WIRING HARNESS GETS DISCONNECTED FROM THE AIR BAG ITSELF AND DISCONNECTS PUTS ON THE AIR BAG LIGHT. TAKING IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE $2,500 OUT OF POCKET. LOOKING THROUGH THE FORUMS MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IT IS A VERY NORMAL PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS.
