Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 1995 GS is power train:automatic transmission:park/neutral start interlock switch with 1 filings, followed by electrical system:ignition (1) and suspension:front:control arm:lower ball joint (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

NHTSA currently has 3 investigation files overlapping the 1995 GS. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. I OWN A 1995 LEXUS GS300 THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON SUSPENSION FRONT ARM LOWER BALL JOINT FOR EVERY YEAR OF THE FIRST GENERATION GS300 1993-1997. SOMEHOW MY LEXUS GS300 DID NOT MAKE THE RECALL, BECAUSE MY VIN# DID NOT FALL WITHIN THE RANGE. 12/21/2007 WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY DRIVERSIDE FRONT WHEEL SEPARATE AT THE BALL JOINT. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT HURT, AND I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY, BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A POTENTIAL HAZARDOUS SITUATION. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST LEXUS DEALER, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO THE FRONT BALL JOINT ON MY VEHICLE. *TR
