DASHBOARD MELTS AND BECOMES STICK AND SHINY, CAUSING EXCESSIVE GLARE AND SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCING THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SEE OUT OF WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED MANUFACTURING DEFECT. CONTACTING LEXUS/TOYOTA ABOUT THIS AND THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS NOT BAD IN THE WINTER TIME. BUT WITH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 40 DEGREES F AND WITH THE SUN SHINING IN THE CAR WINDSHIELD THE DASHBOARD MELTS AND BECOMES SHINY AND STICKY CAUSING DRIVER VISION ISSUES. HAVE CONTACTED MANUFACTURES CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOCAL DEALERS FOR PAST SIX MONTHS WITH NO HELP FROM OTHERS. AUTO IS LOW MILLAGE 65,000 AND IS GARAGED WHEN AT HOME.LOCATED IN MIDWEST. THIS IS MORE THAN A COSMETIC INTERIOR ISSUE, AS IT CAUSES THE DRIVE TO HAVE IMPAIRED OPERATION OF VEHICLE AND SHOULD MANDATE A RECALL

VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE TOXICITY OF THE DASHBOARD AS WELL. IT'S MELTING, CHANGING COLOR FROM BLACK TO WHITE AND CRACKING. THIS CARCINOGENIC MATERIAL IS NOW POISONING ALL WHO RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. INCLUDED PHOTO DOES NOT CONVEY THE GLOSSY MELTING ,STICKY REALITY OF IT ALL. THE GLOSSY MELTING REFLECTION CAUSES LOTS OF GLARE AND IMPAIRS VISIBILITY ON SUNNY DAYS. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED AND DIDN'T NOTICE THE ISSUE AT THE TIME. LEXUS SHOULD JUST OWN UP TO IT AND REPLACE THE DASH NO MATTER HOW OLD THE CAR IS SINCE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO ME AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. WE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT OUR AIR BAG ON THE DRIVER SIDE FOR YEARS BEFORE THE RECALL. WE HAVE YET TO GET THIS CORRECTED EVEN AFTER SERVICE CLAIM TO HAVE REPAIRED OR REPLACE AIRBAG. I AM ASKING FOR HELP ON THIS SITUATION IT HAS BEEN TO LONG DEALING WITH. NOW DEALERSHIP ASKING ME TO PAY ADDITIONAL MONIES AND THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENT JUST AIRBAG LIGHTS STAYS ON.
I HAVE A FAMILY OF FIVE AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY VEHICLE TO TAKE MY WHOLE FAMILY ANYWHERE FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. ANY TIME I HAVE A PASSENGER I HAVE TO ASK THAT THEY SIT IN THE BACK SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME TO DETERMINE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT DATE AND PROVIDE A LOANER CAR IF THEY COULD NOT REPLACE THE AIRBAG IN A TIMELY MANNER. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THROUGH TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. I FEEL I HAVE BEEN PATIENT BUT THIS HAS BECOME A BURDEN ON ME AND MY FAMILY AND I WOULD LIKE THE AIRBAG TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO I CAN USE MY VEHICLE AS A FAMILY CAR AS INTENDED.
