Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2018 RANGE ROVER EVOQUE is unknown or other with 5 filings, followed by electrical system (4) and engine (4). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 2 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2018 RANGE ROVER EVOQUE. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. 20260204ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Significant safety defect in 2018 Range Rover Evoque Convertible regarding water ingress, documented in JLR Technical Bulletin LTB01227NAS1. Design flaws in the A-pillar and rear drainage channels allowed water to flood the interior, saturating the primary electrical wiring harness and destroying electronic modules, including the convertible top lift motor. Despite attempted repairs, the vehicle has a "parasitic battery drain," indicating permanent moisture-induced damage the dealer cannot resolve after 60+ days. SAFETY RISK: Saturated chassis-level wiring creates an imminent risk of short circuits and electrical fire. Since the flooding, the vehicle has displayed random warning lights (ABS, Traction, Transmission), signaling system instability. The battery's inability to hold a charge suggests constant, unintended electrical flow through compromised circuits. This poses a severe risk of sudden component failure, loss of vehicle control, or electrical fire while in motion or parked.

On 12/19/2025 camera view was foggy, it did clear up after a few days. On 01/08/2026 camera system fault turned on and will not clear. There is no back up camera and is not on recall

The problem is the backup camera no longer works. I have trouble seeing when backing up and have almost hit a few persons/things. I found an article online about a recall for our car. the issue is the cars VIN is not listed in the recall batch and was told that by Land Rover Range Rover Customer Service. They asked that I fill out a safety form to get my VIN number into the recall batch.

purchased a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque from Car Choice in Carrollton, Texas in October 2025. Shortly after purchase, I discovered the vehicle was sold in an unsafe and non-roadworthy condition. The vehicle had NO rear brake pads present at the time of sale, creating an immediate and serious safety hazard. In addition, the wheels cannot be removed due to a missing wheel lock key, preventing proper servicing of the braking system. Additional defects include a coolant system leak, windshield washer fluid leak, and an inoperative sunroof. The dealership informed me the vehicle only passed an emissions inspection and did not undergo a safety inspection. These safety-related defects were not disclosed prior to sale. Had I known the vehicle lacked rear brake pads, I would not have purchased it. After reviewing Better Business Bureau (BBB) records, I observed the dealership has a history of consumer complaints involving the sale of vehicles with undisclosed defects and safety issue

The front windshield began leaking into the cabin interior. A windshield replacement has been performed. I paid for the replacement in full. Receipts provided to Land Rover. The auto glass specialist that performed the work performed the replacement of many windshields ( same make, model, year) for the local LR dealer. Safety concerns existed due to the fogging of the windshield interior and the possible water damage to electrical control components. The problem has been documented by a Land Rover authorized auto glass specialist. The windshield replacement was performed by an authorized Land Rover vendor which provided a statement of cause of failure being contaminated glass and primer failure. The cause / nature of the failure is the same as many other vehicles of the same make , mode and year. Also a Class action lawsuit exists for the same problem. The windshield leak presented the symptoms of water intrusion to the interior, resulting in a fogging of the windshield and r

When traveling on [XXX] in New York, at 78 mph, my 2018 Range Rover Evoque experienced an electronic power steering rack failure I had just picked up my neighbors from the airport and were on the way home. When traveling on a smooth, straight highway, the audible notification alerted and a message on the dash appeared stating "power steering reduced". When just trying to change lanes on the straight highway I would feel the strong resistance. When exiting the Interstate my neighbor sitting in the passenger seat even helped me with turning the wheel on the exit ramp. We manage to make it back to my driveway. My wife normally drives this vehicle and if it was her driving at the time of the failure in our more rural area, there is no doubt she would not have been able to steer and would have crashed with a high possibility of personal injury. There is no way she would have had the strength to control the vehicle. The possibility of injury or death is high. If that had happened

While driving, the vehicle will randomly shut off in traffic. I will usually hear 3 "beeps" right before it happens. The vehicle shuts down and goes into Park automatically. It has to be restarted and placed back into Drive. The display will read "Select Gear to Maneuver" and the home screen will read "Special Programs Off" with a lengthy definition. Vehicle was inspected and diagnostics performed by Land Rover dealer in Indianapolis. Technicians did not find any stored codes, warnings, or any indication of what would cause the defect. Since the inspection in late July, the vehicle has shut down 3 times. 8/21/23 & twice on 9/20/23.

I have taken it to Land Rover and they tell me they couldn’t find anything wrong but there is definitely something wrong.
