THIS VEHICLE HAS TERRIBLE BATTERY ISSUES. THE BATTERY WILL NEVER STAY CHARGED FOR MORE THAN 2 DAYS WITHOUT DRIVING IT. THE BATTERY DIES REGULARLY AND HAS LEFT MY FAMILY AND I STRANDED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY 6 TIMES IN 3 YEARS. EACH TIME I PURCHASE A HIGH END BATTERY TO TRY TO MITIGATE THE PROBLEM, BUT IT PERSISTS. THE BATTERY STARTS OUT GREAT, BUT OVER TIME IS WORN FURTHER AND FURTHER DOWN. THIS IS AN IN GOING ISSUE WITH MANY, MANY PEOPLE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN RESOLVED. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED. THIS THE CAR MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER USE, WHAT IF THEY ARE STRANDED SOMEWHERE UNSAFE BECAUSE THIS BATTERY AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS INSUFFICIENT? AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND REALIZING THAT THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH MY VEHICLE, I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL OF CAR AND IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR. I CAN'T GET MY VEHICLE INTO THE LR DEALER FOR MORE THAN 2 WEEKS - HOWEVER I AM WONDERING WHY, AFTER REVIEWING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IN THIS MAKE/MODEL OF VEHICLE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON IT. I HAVE CONTACTED LR NA BUT DO NOT EXPECT REMEDIATION. I AM HOPING THE NHTSA WILL LOOK AT YET ANOTHER COMPLAINT AND PROVIDE CONSUMERS SOME ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER.

DEALER SAY'S WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER, HOWEVER IT APPEARS THERE ARE MANY MANY OTHER CASES FOR THE LR2 THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA OR THE DEALER IS INTERESTED IN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A PERVASIVE ISSUE. IT SEEMS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ISSUE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

I BOUGHT A 2010 LAND ROVER LR2 FROM THE DEALER LESS THAT 1 YEAR AGO. IT HAD 72,000 MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT, THE SALES REP AND LAND ROVER SAID THE CAR WAS A "LOANER" CAR FOR CUSTOMERS. THEY SAID IT WAS FULLY MAINTAINED AND SERVICED AT THE APPROPRIATE MILES. IVE ONLY DRIVEN IT 8,000 MILES AND THE DRIVE TRAIN IS NOW HUMMING AND WHIRLING. I TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT THESE LAND ROVER ARE INFAMOUS IN HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. MORE THAN ANY OTHER CAR. IN THIS CASE I STRONGLY FEEL LAND ROVER SHOULD AS A COURTESY FIX MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL BECAUSE IT IS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM AND A FLAW IN THESE CARS. THE HUMMING WHIRLY NOISE COMES AS YOU START TO RUN THE CAR AND GETS DUDE AS YOU SPEED UP. IN CONCLUSION THE REPAIR FOR THE DIFFERENTIAL IS VERY EXPENSIVE.

AFTER PUTTING ABOUT A 1000 MILES ON IT IN 2 MONTHS, A ROARING NOISE STARTED COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING AROUND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN TOWN. NOTE THAT THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. IT WAS SUBTLE AT FIRST AND CONTINUED TO GROW LOUDER. I LOOKED THIS UP ONLINE AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THIS WAS A POTENTIAL REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE AND WAS EVEN MORE SHOCKED THAT IT APPEARS TO BE AN EPIDEMIC WITH THE VEHICLE. I CALLED LAND ROVER IN LITTLE ROCK, AR AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE CAR IN TO BE LOOKED AT. AS FIRST THOUGHT, IT IS THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL GOING OUT AT 62,000 MILES AND THERE IS NO REPAIR, JUST A FULL REPLACEMENT FOR $2,800. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECH THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW. HE SAID THAT LAND ROVER IS FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME AS THEY DIDN'T SEE

2010 LAND ROVER LR2. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STEERING AND REAR WHEEL PROBLEMS AND REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED EVEN THOUGH THE INVOICE STATED ALL APPLICABLE MEASUREMENTS WERE CHECKED. SPECIFICALLY, THE STEERING GEOMETRY, WHICH WAS ADJUSTED, THE CASTOR, CAMBER, KING PIN INCLINATION, TOE IN/OUT ON TURNS AND THE REAR WHEEL. THE INSPECTION REPORT SHOWED ALL SAFETY, HANDLING AND DRIVEABILITY LINE ITEMS WERE IN PROPER WORKING ORDER. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO HEAR A NOISE AND FEEL A PULL TO THE RIGHT SIDE . THE CONSUMER STATED BASED ON THE NOISES, SHE WAS CONVINCED, THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SUSPENSION.
