Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE and 2022-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the windshield wipers and the heater unintendedly engaged. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unable to turn off the vehicle, which required the contact to wait until the battery was drained. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the battery pack assembly had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the high-voltage battery pack software needed to be updated and the battery pack assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.
