I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH FOOT ON BREAK. THROTTLE WENT VERY HIGH AND PROPELLED CAR FORWARDED EVEN WHEN PUSHING THE BREAKS PENAL DOWN AS HARD AS I COULD. THERE IS NO WAY I PUSHED DOWN ON THE WRONG PEDAL. THE BREAKS COULD NOT HOLD THE CAR STOPPED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!

MY HUSBAND WAS REAR-ENDED WHILE DRIVING THE 1997 JEEP WRANGLER. HIS SEAT COLLAPSED BACKWARD DURING THE IMPACT RESULTING IN HITTING HIS HEAD ON THE ROLL BAR AND AN EXAGGERATED FLEXION-EXTENSION OF HIS NECK AND BACK AS HIS THE SUPPORT (THE SEAT) BASICALLY DISAPPEARED. *NM
DT: WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND ROAD CONDITIONS THE FRONT BRAKES LOCKED. WHEN THE BRAKES LOCK THE WHEELS SKIDDED EITHER TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT, BUT MORE OFTEN TO THE RIGHT. HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE BECAUSE DEALER DETERMINED NOTHING WAS WRONG. CALLED CHRYSLER, AND TRIED TO SPEAK TO AN ENGINEER AND THEY DID NOT WISH TO TALK TO CONSUMER. VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN SEVERAL CRASHES. *AK

JEEP SKIDDED ON WET SURFACE. ON REMOVING REAR DRUM I FOUND THE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT CABLE BROKEN. BRAKE SHOES WERE OK. IN MY OPINION THE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT CABLE WAS DEFECTIVE. *AK

WHILE DRIVING ON ROUTE 93 IN BOSTON, MA ON A RAINY DAY AT 6 AM. I BRAKED AND SWERVED TO AVOID A CAR AND THE BACK BRAKES ON 97 JEEP WRANGLER LOCKED AND THE BACK END CAME AROUND AND I IT THE ZIPPER LANE BARRIER. I ENDED UP FACING TRAFFICE IN THE WRONG DIRECTION IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE. *AK

LEVER TO PUSH SEAT FORWARD/BACKWARDS HAS A BLACK CAP THAT CAME OFF. METAL PIECE HAD IMPALED OWNER'S LEG WHILE BACKING OUT OF VEHICLE. POINT OF LEVER IS SHAPED LIKE AN ARROW AND IS 1 1/2 INCHES TALL. THIS IS SECOND TIME PROBLEM LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED.*AK

WHILE DRIVING LOST OIL PRESSURE AND VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE, AND THE CONSUMER EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. OIL WAS SQUIRTING OUT OF THE TOPE OF THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR AND RUNNING BACK ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, SENSOR FAILURE AND LEAKAGE CAUSED FIRE. *AK
