Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall Not Rated/5 rating, with Not Rated/5 front crash, Not Rated/5 side crash, and Not Rated/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2024 GRAND WAGONEER is electrical system with 9 filings, followed by engine (8) and service brakes (3). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 6 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 29 investigation files overlapping the 2024 GRAND WAGONEER, and 3 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Late last year I reported that while towing a trailer, the dash indicated that the trailer had disconnected from the trailer as looking back I noticed the lights were off when the vehicle lights were on. Before I could pull over to check the connection, the lights turned back on and the warning light extinguished. This happened 3 times when towing the trailer that day. The dealership "reprogrammed" the module and said it was good. But after the latest recall for the Wagoneer, having it recalled, I wanted to notify someone about the potential for expanding the vehicles included in the recall.

While driving, my vehicle has intermittently lost power without warning, creating a serious safety hazard. The loss of power occurs unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion and is not associated with any driver input, weather, or road conditions. The issue has occurred on more than one occasion. The first occasion in March 2025. The issue appeared to be temporarily resolved but later recurred, indicating the underlying problem was not corrected. When the loss of power occurs, the vehicle does not respond to acceleration input and behaves as though propulsion is cut off completely. This happens suddenly and without warning while driving. This condition creates a dangerous situation, particularly when driving in traffic or at speed as was the case on 12/4/25 when driving 70 mph on the freeway, the second time the issue occurred for us. While driving my 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power without warning. The engine shut off while the vehicle was in motion, including during a turn. When this occurred, I lost power steering, which made the vehicle difficult to control and created an immediate safety hazard. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had ongoing issues including overheating, repeated check engine lights, and power steering warnings. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times. A thermostat repair was previously performed, and at a later visit I was told there was an electrical/battery wiring issue that was repaired. Despite these repairs, the problem has continued. The loss of power while driving placed my safety and the safety of others at risk, especially since the failure occurred without warning and resulted in loss of steering assistance. I no longer feel the vehicle is safe to operate, particularly when transporting my children. The issue has

While stopped in traffic with the brake pedal depressed and Auto Hold enabled, my 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L has repeatedly jerked and shifted itself into Park without driver input. This typically occurs after being stopped approximately 20+ seconds, often while a turn signal is activated for a left or right turn. When the failure occurs, the vehicle disables driver-assist systems, the turn signals behave like emergency flashers, false rear tail light error messages appear, and the check engine light turns on and remains illuminated. The vehicle will not move until the brake pedal is applied and the transmission is manually shifted back into Drive. The issue has occurred multiple times at different locations and dates. A recent repair replaced the vehicle’s primary electronics control module(s), but the same behavior occurred again afterward. Due to the unintended shift into Park and unpredictable system behavior, the vehicle is now parked and not being driven because I do not trust

The vehicle has ongoing electrical and battery system problems that cause safety and driver-assistance systems to malfunction or shut off unexpectedly. The vehicle has repeatedly been found dead after short periods of non-use, requiring jump starts and battery replacement. These electrical issues appear to affect multiple vehicle systems simultaneously. While driving, advanced safety features such as lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and proximity-based warning systems shut off, become unavailable, or behave inconsistently without warning. In some cases, warning messages appear and then clear on their own, while the affected safety systems remain disabled. At other times, the systems deactivate without any clear alert. The manufacturer and dealer have acknowledged battery drain and electrical instability, but instead of permanently repairing the underlying problem, certain features were disabled to reduce battery draw. These include proximity-related

The vehicle in question, has been to a certified jeep dealer twice, to remedy the problem of locking axles and the center differential. The remedy by Crown CDJR in Columbus OH, was to replace the control module. Performance CDJR of Gorgesville /Columbus OH had removed the center differential/transfer case for an inspection and performed updates. None of the aforementioned warranty work, fixed the problem. The vehicle has intermittent, apparent drivetrain differential locking issues, that require an ignition cycle. In addition, the electronic limited slip rear axle appears to lock near 75% in Auto and Snow Mode, which renders the vehicle's operation unsafe. This is especially apparent in 25 to 45 MPH turns, sharp turns, as when merging from one intersection to a perpendicular other roadway. The car wants to go straight on slippery/wet pavement. On the 25th of November, a video was taken, by chance, when the vehicle was merging onto Easton Way from the off ramp of 270 North. The v
