Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. A software error within the hybrid control processor may result in a loss of drive power.
On December 17, 2025, I brought my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (30th Anniversary Edition) to Los Angeles Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for safety recall 68C involving the high-voltage (HV) battery. The dealer performed the required recall software update/flash and diagnostic and confirmed the vehicle failed 68C, meaning the HV traction battery pack requires replacement. The vehicle remains at the dealer and is available for inspection. I cannot take the vehicle home even if I tried: per the recall process it must remain at the dealer once it fails, and the software flash/diagnostic effectively âbrickedâ the vehicle, rendering it undriveable until the HV battery is replaced. This defect involves the HV battery, a critical energy-storage component with serious safety implications. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer; no police/insurance inspection. The dealer initially stated the battery would arrive around January 12, 2026, but it did not. At ~4 weeks out of service I

I turned the vehicle on and put it in reverse. The check engine light came on and it would not exceed 2mph. I hoped it was a short error but when switching to drive it also would not exceed 2mph. I immediately parked it and called a tow truck. Upon the tow arrival the vehicle would not longer change gears and showed both a check engine light and a service charging system warning. The emergency release to change the vehicle from park to neutral had to be used. It was pulled onto the tow truck and has been 6 days at the dealer with no remedy. The dealer escalated to Stellantis for additional assistance in possible repair options.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the electrical charge remained at 98% for an extensive amount of time, showing no reduction in charge; however, the vehicle failed to charge correctly, and the battery charge drained quickly. The failure was intermittent. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Multiple times the vehicle will drive very jumpy even if not pressing on the gas or brakes. When accelerating or braking the car will randomly drastically respond to the pedals or barely respond almost making it impossible to stop at times. The inconsistency of breaking and gas power has caused me almost be hit or hit someone else repeatedly.
Dealer reported the incorrect mileage on my vehicle when I took it in for service. Now today when I came in 02/16/2026, they told me about this issue and it affected my warranty and also affected my car fax record for my vehicle.
The head unit sometimes refuses to work, meaning the backup camera does not work. The problems have been there since day 1, but now I have a good video of an incident. This is a massive plug in hybrid vehicle, so losing my backup camera puts pedestrians at risk. This is a mandatory safety feature to protect children behind the vehicle. I tried the screens power button as well as putting the vehicle in park then reverse but it never switched on the backup camera.

The heater on our 4 x e stopped working and would not defrost front window or heat the car in sub zero weather we have been having lately. I have had this car in 2 times already for the same issue. I fear for my wife's safety while driving this car as it can not defrost the front window due to heat not working. I have an apt on 2/16/2026 for a computer dump and fear another $370 bill for something that appears can not be fixed. I re-booted the computer as it recommended on the internet, but it only worked a small time. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the message "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailableâ, âFuel and Oil Refresh in Progress" were displayed; however, the messages disappeared after the vehicle was shifted into drive(D). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the battery pack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts shipping issues. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,090.
