Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. A software error within the hybrid control processor may result in a loss of drive power.
On January 23, while driving, the vehicle suddenly shut down and stopped working without warning. I attempted to restart the vehicle several times, but it would not start. Smoke was coming from the engine area, and the vehicle was completely disabled on the road. I was stranded on the roadside until approximately 11:30 PM, waiting for a tow truck to arrive. The vehicle had to be towed and taken to the dealership. The dealership later confirmed that the engine wiring harness had burned and failed. The failed component is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection. This sudden shutdown created a serious safety risk to me and other drivers due to loss of power while driving. The issue was not caused by misuse or modifications. The vehicle has since been inspected by the dealership and a manufacturer (Chrysler) representative.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The water pump started leaking and I believe that the coolant coming out of the water pump got the electric power steering terminals (which are right below the water pump) wet which caused the power steering to stop working and needs to be replaced.
On 01/30/26, I delivered my vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for the third time in connection with Safety Recall 68C involving the hybrid battery system. The recall addresses a battery defect that carries risk of fire. This is the third occasion on which I have had to leave my vehicle with the dealership because the recall repair has not been successfully completed. During the most recent service appointment, the recall repair procedure failed. I was informed that the hybrid battery would require full replacement and that the vehicle could not be returned to me. The vehicle has remained at the dealership and out of service since that date. As of 02/16/26, I have not been provided with a confirmed estimated time of arrival for the replacement battery. The vehicle remains unusable pending completion of the recall repair. No loaner vehicle was provided when the vehicle was rendered inoperable due to the failed recall repair. I was therefore required to obtain a rental vehicle at m

On February 8, 2026, I attempted to use the windshield washer fluid, but no fluid came out onto the windshield. Instead, it forcefully sprayed the front camera. The jeep will randomly lose cabin heat and blow cold air. It seems to happen mostly when the battery is drained. Took it to dealer but they tried to say it was normal which we stated it canât be normal to not be able to defrost your windshield in the winter. I called mopar and they opened a case which then the dealer said they had luck changing a coolant valve that tends to stick. Not sure if that will fix issue or have seen people have luck with the ECH. It happened at 36000 miles
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the contactâs daughter was reversing in a parking lot, the audible chime for the closeness of an object or vehicle failed to function as designed. There was an image displayed on the screen. The failure was intermittent but was a recurring failure. The vehicle was also experiencing other electrical failures. The contact stated that in early January, there was an unknown warning light illuminated on the instrument cluster. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the warning light was reset. The contact was asked if the battery had recently drained completely. The contact stated that the battery had not been drained. The contact stated that several recall repairs had been performed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and was concerned about the safety of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

Vehicle was in electric mode and failed to accelerate under electric power. First time was traveling around 45 mph and went to accelerate to 60mph at speed limit change. Battery was around 95% and gas pedal was gently pressed with no acceleration. Once floored and ICE started acceleration continued. Second time was pulling onto the highway and accelerated up to 25mph and continued to press the accelerator and vehicle would not speed up untill gas pedal was all the way to the floor and ICE engine kicked in. Battery was about 50%. Delay in acceleration could have caused rear end accident when pulling onto highway. Issue has not happened before. 68c recall was performed on January 13th. Has only happened 2 times so far. Has not been reproduced by dealer. Has not been inspected yet. No warning lights, just electric mode temporarily unavailable when ICE kicked in.
Smoke set off smoke dector in garrage has a burning smell not plastic like metel and the car has a odor like nail polish on the inside. I am writing to provide an urgent update regarding my Jeep. Per our previous discussions, we had intended to coordinate a service visit to the Concord dealership. However, as of today, Jan 27 2026 at approximately 2:29pm, the vehicle has experienced a catastrophic failure and is no longer safe to operate or store in an enclosed structure. The vehicle currently presents a severe fire hazard. While attempting to move it today, the following occurred: Smoke and Melting Odor: The vehicle began emitting a strong odor of melting components. This was severe enough to trigger the heat and smoke detectors in my garage. Erratic Electrical Behavior: Even with the ignition in the "Off" position and the charging cable disconnected, the vehicle continues to make loud clicking and internal cycling noises. Was driving on a crowded interstate highway that runs through Denver when my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe suddenly turned off. Luckily, there were no cars in the adjacent lane and I had enough forward momentum to get across that lane and onto the shoulder of the road. There were no warning lights or alarm sounds, the engine just turned off. After reaching the shoulder, I restarted the car and could drive it to a dealership. It is currently at the Jeep dealership undergoing diagnostics. This was an unbelievably dangerous event that could have resulted in a multiple car pile up with injuries or deaths (most likely mine or my wifeâs) since we were in such heavy traffic at a speed of about 70 mph. We are the sole owners of the vehicle and have kept up to date on all recalls of which there have been several. We had one recall outstanding which was due to be addressed in a few days which dealt with a potential battery fire. Not sure how that would relate to this event. We have not
