SEVERE CORROSION TO THE FRAME AND SUB FRAME OF THE JEEP COMPASS. THE FRONT SUB FRAME IS SEPARATING FROM THE FRAME AND NOW THE VEHICLE IS UNSTABLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THERE SHOULD NOT BE THIS MUCH CORROSION ON A 2007 VEHICLE OF ANY KIND.

DURING VEHICLE INSPECTION THE REAR CROSS MEMBER WAS FOUND TO HAVE RUSTED THROUGH. THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS REPLACED IN 2016 UNDER A CAMPAIGN THROUGH JEEP. NOT A RECALL THOUGH. NOW TWO YEARS LATER THE REAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM BUT IT IS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT HAD A TEN YEAR EXPIRATION FROM DATE OF MANUFACTURE. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT FROM JEEP AND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD A TIME LIMIT PLACED ON IT. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND REPLACED. JEEP KNOWS THEY ARE DEFECTIVE ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.

I WAS TOLD BY TWO DIFFERENT GARAGES THAT IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE STRUTS AND WHOLE FRONT END IS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR THAT WOULD COST MORE THAN THE VEHICLE IS WORTH. ALSO THE CAR DEALERSHIP HAS REMOVED THE AIRBAGS AND NOW MADE IT NONSTICKERABLE. YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT WITHOUT THE VEHICLE FEELING LIKE THE FRONT END IS GONNA FALL OUT AND IS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING.

STARTED HEARING A LOT OF NOISES IN THE FRONT END, TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. HE SAID THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER WAS RUSTED IN 2, WHICH WAS CAUSING EVERYTHING TO ROCK. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. HE SAID THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR A LONG TIME WITH CHRYSLER PRODUCTS.

ISSUES WITH CAR STALLING/SHUTTING OFF AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL. THIS OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IDLE OR WHILE IN DRIVE. VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY ON BUSY HIGHWAYS. HAS CAUSED NEAR ACCIDENTS ON MANY OCCASIONS. ISSUE OCCURRED AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK COMPLETELY BUT THEN HAPPENED AFTER EVERY FILL UP, REGARDLESS OF AMOUNT. CAR ALSO TAKES LONGER TO FILL UP AS GAS PUMP AT GAS STATION WOULD CLICK OFF WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FILL CAR.

MY 2007 JEEP COMPASS HORN WOULD NOT STOP BLOWING. THE DEALER DISABLED IT AND THE CAR WOULD GO IN THE NEXT DAY. OVER 5 DAYS IT HAD TO BE JUMPED 4X AS THE JEEP WAS DEAD TRYING TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS NOT THE BATTERY AND AFTER 5 HOURS THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A FIXABLE BECAUSE IT NEEDED A HORN SWITCH. THE PROBLEM IS THAT NO ONE HAS A HORN SWITCH FOR IT. THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER..THERE ARE 527 ORDERS FOR IT WITH NO DELIVERY DATE IN SIGHT. YOU CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE HORN BLOWING OR WITH IT DISABLED OR RUN THE SAFETY RISK OF NEEDING THE HORN OR THE JEEP DYING ON YOU MID ROUTE. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 20 PLUS DAYS. JEEP NOT HAVING THIS PART OR DEALERS GETTING ACCESS TO IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
