GEAR SHIFT WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO GO INTO DRIVE WITHOUT EITHER PRESSING ON THE BRAKES OR TURNING THE KEY IN IGNITION, CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PUT CAR IN REVERSE BY ACCIDENTLY HITTING GEAR SHIFT. ALSO, DEALER FOUND THAT THE RAMP IN WHICH THE LOCKING MECHANISM FITTED INTO WAS WORN OR DESIGNED AT AN EXTREME AN ANGLE, ALLOWING THE RAMP TO BE PUSHED INTO THE REVERSE POSITON. IN 1998, DEALER INSTALLED A SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEM. *AK
PAINT IS PEELING OFF IN SHEETS,THE BRAKES DON'T SLOW THE VEHICLE COSISTANLY,SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PUSH ON THE BRAKE IT LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE BRAKES AT ALL BUT THE DEALER SWEARS THERE "NORMAL" THE WHOLE WHEEL ASSEMBLY FELL OFF THE CAR DOING 65 MPH I THINK CHYRSLER IS WAITING FOR THIS CAR TO KILL SOME ONE BEFORE THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT IS A LEMON AND IT WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME IF THAT HAPPENS AND NOW YOU ARE AWARE OF IT TO I WISH SOME ONE WOULD WAKE UP AN BUY THIS LEMON BACK BEFORE THERE ARE FATALITIES.

WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOORBOARD, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THE BACK. CONTACTED DEALER TO GET THE VEHICLE IN THE SHOP, AND THE VEHICLE HAS'NT BEEN REPAIRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A FIRE IN THE ENGINE. THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE. THE CHEROKEE BURNED COMPLETELY. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THERE WAS A FUEL LINE LEAK OR A FUEL INJECTOR LEAK. THE FIREWALL PROTECTED THE PASSENGERS UNTIL THEY WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE. *AK *ML
DURING VEHICLE COLLISION SPARE TIRE BROKE FREE RESULTING IN HITTING THE BACK OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.
CONSUMER PARKED VEHICLE, APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED. FIRE INSPECTOR DISCOVERED FIRE STARTED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. VIN.# WILL BE ADDED AT LATER TIME. *AK
