HE SPECULATED THAT THE COMPONENT FAILED PREMATURELY BECAUSE HE RESIDES IN A SALT BELT STATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD COST $1,000. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH. SHE CONDUCTED RESEARCH AND FOUND RECALL NUMBER 04V199000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: CABLES). SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT HER VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED BECAUSE SHE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AS NOTED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 134,053 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.

WHEN DRIVING IN SLIPPERY SNOWY CONDITIONS, AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES THE ABS COMPUTER MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE THAT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ABS COMPONENT IS SEVERED BY EITHER REMOVING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FROM THE BATTERY OR REMOVING THE FUSE. THIS HAS OCURRED MANY TIMES, BUT ONLY THREE TIMES HAS IT CAUSED A LOSS OF CONTROL WHERE PEOPLE WERE AT RISK OF HARM. 2. UNDER THE BUZZING CONDITION NOTED IN 1(B) ABOVE, THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM SEEMS TO FAIL, WITH LESS CONTROL BECAUSE THE BRAKES LOCK UP, AND STEERING BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE. ISUZU MOTORS SAFETY RECALL NO: 04V-199000. *BF WHEN THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, HE WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO LONGER ANY AUTHORIZED ISUZU DEALERS. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT ISUZU MOTORS HAD REVOKED THEIR DEALERSHIP AUTHORITY SHORTLY AFTER THE RECALL NOTICE CAME OUT. THE DEALER DID THE CONSUMER TWO DEALERSHIP THAT COULD PERFORM THE RECALL, HOWEVER THEY WERE VERY FAR AWAY. *JB
I HAVE SENT FIRESTONE ALL THAT THEY REQUESTED ME. THE FAILED FIRESTONE TIRE ALONG WITH A CD WITH ALL THE PICTURES OF THE TIRE AS WELL AS TWO ESTIMATES TO GET THE CAR FIXED. THE TOP ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE CAR WAS FOR $1380.00. I SENT IT THROUGH FED-EX WITH THE MAILING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE COVER OF THE BOX. YOU COULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED THE TIRE WITH OUT THE BOX BECAUSE THE MAILING INSTRUCTIONS WERE ON THE ALONG WITH THE CD AND THE ESTIMATES!! THEREFORE, ONE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES HAD TO HAVE RECEIVED THE CD AND THE ESTIMATES WITH THE BOX, WHICH CONTAIN THE FAILED FIRESTONE TIRE. YOU STATED IN YOUR CORRESPONDENCE THAT YOU DO NOT POSSESS THOSE DOCUMENTS. THE ONLY WAY YOU COULD NOT POSSESS THOSE DOCUMENTS IS IF YOU LOST THEM!!! BECAUSE THEY WERE TAPED WITH THE MAILING/DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BOX!!! THE ENGINE WILL STALL AND NOT IDLE IF THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED FOR ABOUT 20 MILES AFTER A SEEMINGLY UNRELATED FAILURE IN THE SPEEDOMETER SENSOR. THIS CAN BE A SAFTEY HAZARD AS IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS EXITING A FREEWAY OFFRAMP AND SUDDENLY HAD NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES.
VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT, I STEERED TO THE LEFT TO CORRECT. VEHICLE CROSSED MEDIAN OUT OF CONTROL. I CORRECTED AGAIN TO THE RIGHT AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER THREE AND ONE HALF TURNS. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE LEFT RIGHT MOTION NECESSARY TO CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO TIP AND ROLL. *AK
