THROTTLE STUCK IN OPEN POSITION. AS I WAS DRIVING AND SHIFTING GEARS, THE THROTTLE STAYED DOWN CAUSING THE RPM TO REDLINE WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. IT CONTINUED IN OTHER GEARS AS WELL. APPARENTLY, I NEED TO HAVE A RUBBER BOOT REPLACED AT THE END OF THE CABLE THAT IS KNOW TO HAVE MELTED OFF AND CLOG UP THE CABLE HOUSING. *TR

HELLO MY NAME IS [XXX] I LIVE IN WASHINGTON STATE AND I OWN A 1992 ISUZU RODEO 4X4 WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS ISUZU RODEO HAS GONE THROUGH 4 TRANSMISSIONS IN THE PAST 1 YEAR AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE IS GOING BAD. I HAVE PUT OVER $3000.00 INTO THIS VEHICLE AND IT STILL IS HAVING PROBLEMS. I HAVE TALKED TO ABOUT 10 PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROBLEMS HERE IN THE OLYMPIA AREA. THE COTTMAN TRANSMISSION COMPANY GAVE ME A WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME IT IS SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES THE TRANSMISSION. THEY TELL ME NOW THAT IT IS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME A WARRANTY ON THIS ITEM SINCE IT IS AN ELECTRICAL UNIT.. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS CONSTANT PROBLEM? THE VEHICLE IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $3000.00 AND NOW I HAVE OVER THAT JUST INTO THE TRANSMISSION.. COTTMAN WILL PUT THE SECOND TCM IN FOR ANOTHER 1000.00 AND HE SAID IF THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD AGAIN ALSO THE WARRANTY IS VOID BECAUSE OF AN ELECTRICAL

THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SHOP AND CHECKED OUT FOR SEVERAL HOURS BUT TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM AND TOLD THE CONSUMER THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE AND WITNESSES SAID THE SAW FLAMES COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK, THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND WITHIN SECONDS THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALLY ENGULFED(OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT).
