WHEN DRIVING THE 1999 ISUZU OASIS, THE VEHICLE JUST GOES DEAD WITHOUT WARNING. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A SHOP WHO CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY AND SAID THE STALL MAY BE RELATED TO THE IDLE AIR CONTROL. THE PROBLEM OF THE VEHICLE GOING DEAD WITHOUT WARNING HAS OCCURRED 10 TIMES IN 4 WEEKS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS BETWEEN 25 AND 55 MPH AND IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 ISUZU OASIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, EVEN IF THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR WAS NOT IN PARK. AS A RESULT, THE HIS VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE PARKED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD NOT OCCURRED UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION: SWITCH (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 02V120000) WAS PERFORMED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE IGNITION LOCK FAILED. AS OF OCTOBER 22, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
