Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling 2017-2018 Infiniti QX30 vehicles. The driver's air bag may unexpectedly deploy due to insufficient grounding of the steering components if an electrostatic discharge occurs and the air bag clockspring is broken.

The contact owned a 2017 Infiniti QX30. The contact stated that, while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed on a highway, another vehicle suddenly merged into her lane. The driver was unable to react and collided with the rear of the vehicle. I was in a car accident where the front of my car collided with another car damaging and taking part of the front of my car off and pushing it up bulging at the side mirrors and my airbag did not deploy. After the impact, my dashboard had "SRS Malfunction Service Requested" light to come on. This accident occurred on 4.25.22 around 6am in New Orleans located at the I-10 and I-610 EB. The car was deemed as a complete total by both insurance parties even though the airbag did not deploy. I hit my
