Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2021 Q60 is engine with 2 filings, followed by power train (1) and forward collision avoidance: warnings (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 2 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 7 investigation files overlapping the 2021 Q60. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON IN THE DASH INCLUDING THE CRASH SENSORS, AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR WITH NO SUCCESS. ONCE THE START BUTTON IS PUSHED, THE CAR MAKES A CLICKING NOISE BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN ON. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE NOISE TO STOP IS TO PUSH THE START BUTTON AGAIN. AT THIS TIME, THE CAR WILL NOT START. IT WAS TOWED TO INFINITI DEALERSHIP, AND HAS BEEN THERE AS OF TODAY (03/23/3021) FOR 15 DAYS. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP, NOR INFINITI NORTH AMERICA HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GIVE ME AN UPDATE ON WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR, OR WHEN I WILL GET IT BACK. THEY CAN NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.
