Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2014 Q60 is air bags with 6 filings, followed by engine (2) and electrical system (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 7 investigation files overlapping the 2014 Q60. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. failure of passenger sensor for air bag
air bags not functioning11
2014 Q60 Infiniti airbag light flashing, compromising the passenger airbag. The dealer wants over $5-7000 to replace the seat, because of the sense pressure plate failure, indicating an adult sitting in seat, and not a child getting injured. Infiniti redesigned their newer seats, because of this problem, so they knew about it and did nothing to resolve this issue for consumers. There is a recall for the 2014 Qx50 Airbag Diagnostic airbag sensor unit, newer design, "which the Q60 doesn't have", resulting in a cheaper fix. I feel Infiniti only worried about their bottom line, and not the safety of our bottom, being in the seat. Sincere and in need of help!

My car started showing "airbag light" blinking out of the blue. I only have 45k miles on the car. When I went to the dealer, they suggested that is should change the entire passenger seat @ 6000 dollars for a Occupancy sensor issue. I even tried talking to Infiniti USA with no avail. they were not willing to help me at all. NHTSA has recalled just about every model of Nissan and Infiniti from 2009 - 2016 or thereabouts for the exact same problem except a Q60 convertible. there are multiple complaints from owners about this issue and how frustrating it is to be spending 6k for a small sensor issue. I am looking for answers and have not been able to resolve it with either the dealer or the manufacturer.
WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN MY PASSENGER SEAT THE SRS SYSTEM FAULTS OUT CAUSING AN ERROR CODE IN THE SRS SYSTEM. STATING AN OCS MALFUNCTION. THE ERROR CODE SAYS TO REPLACE OCS CONTROL UNIT AND SENSOR. THE SRS SYSTEM SHUTS OFF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BECAUSE THE SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT AN OCCUPANT IN THE SEAT. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE SRS SYSTEM AND CONFIRMED THE ERROR CODE. I CALLED INFINITY CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO ATTEMPT TO GET THEM TO FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY CAR AS THE COST OF REPAIR IS $11,497.79. THEY TURNED ME DOWN FLAT. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO ME THAT I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MALFUNCTION OF A CRITICAL SAFETY ITEM/ISSUE, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS SAME ISSUE IN THE YEARS THAT MY CAR WAS MADE. BUT MY PARTICULAR MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SAFETY RECALL. I'VE DONE RESEARCH ON GOOGLE AND THERE ARE OTHER INSTANCES OF THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE FROM MY MODEL AND YEAR. SO I'M STUCK WITH AN UNSAFE CAR THRU NO FAULT OF MY OWN, I CAN'T TAKE MY WIFE OR ANY OTHER P
The airbag light on the dashboard is flashing. The car has 36,157 actual miles and Infiniti says that it is out of warranty. The local Infiniti dealer researched the problem and found that there is a defective sensor in the passenger seat bottom. The dealer says that Infiniti can only suggest replacing the entire seat at a cost exceeding $9,000. The sensor can't be replaced any other way. A local independent auto repair shop confirmed all of this information and also offered that Infiniti is the only car manufacturer they know of that requires a total seat replacement. My feeling is that this is a safety defect that has an impossibly high repair cost. I feel that this justifies a recall order.
AFTER CAR SITS FOR 1~2 WEEKS BATTERY GOES DEAD. HAD TO THE DEALER AND REPLACED BATTERY. 3 MONTHS LATER SAME THING. BACK TO DEALER AND FOUND A DEFECTIVE BATTERY AND REPLACED, AGAIN. 2 MONTHS LATER SAME PROBLEM. BACK TO DEALER AND REQUESTED A PARASITIC DRAW TEST....NEGATIVE. SAME PROBLEM AGAIN, WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SUGGESTED TO DISABLE REMOTE START. DEALER HAS NO CLUE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN 2018 TO PRESENT, 2021. I FEEL IT IS NOT THE REMOTE START SINCE IT HAS BEEN IN THE CAR SINCE NEW. NO PROBLEM FOR THE FIRST FEW YEARS.

OCCASIONALLY THE VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN BRINGING VEHICLE TO HALT SHORTLY AFTER STARTING MOVEMENT FOLLOWING A STOP AT STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS. FOR EXAMPLE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN FOR A WHILE AND BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP. PRESSING GAS PEDAL AFTER FULL STOP WILL MOVE THE VEHICLE BUT BRIEFLY AND THEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN. FURTHER PRESSING GAS PEDAL WILL NOT ENGAGE THE VEHICLE. ONE NEEDS TO REMOVE PRESSURE FROM GAS PEDAL COMPLETELY BEFORE PRESSING IT AGAIN IN ORDER TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THERE IS NO NEED TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT THIS ENTIRE PROCESS TAKES A BIT OF TIME (10-20 SECONDS). THIS IS A HYBRID AND IT IS NORMAL FOR ENGINE TO GO SILENT AT STOP, BUT IT DID NOT SHOW THIS BEHAVIOR UNTIL RECENTLY (ABOUT 60000 MILES). ALSO THIS BEHAVIOR IS UNPREDICTABLE. IT CAN HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN A DAY, AND THEN BEHAVE NORMALLY FOR SEVERAL DAYS OR A WEEK. THIS HAPPENED BOTH TO ME AND MY WIFE. AT 2 OCCASION THIS ALMOST LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO VEHICLE BEHIND NOT EXPECTING SUDD

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IMPLODED SHOOTING VERY SMALL SHARP SHARDS OF GLASS ALL OVER MYSELF, THE FRONT SEAT, INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CENTER CONSOLE. THESE WERE NOT TEMPERED PIECES OF GLASS, RATHER SHARP SHARDS THAT CUT ME WHILE TRYING TO CLEAN UP.
