Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, 2002-2004 Pathfinder, 2007-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles. The vehicles are
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 INFINITI I30. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND ABS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V450000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.

IN COLD WEATHER (30F) OR BELOW THE MIDDLE AND LOWER PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD MAKES A RATTELING NOISE IN EVERY BUMP REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE OR THE DEGREE OF ROAD BUMP I.E. MINOR AS WELL AS MAJOR ROAD BUMPS. FIRST TIME WHEN I TOOK TO THE DEALER HE WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE IT. NOW I HAVE TO TAKE IT FOR THE SECOND TIME AND THE DEALER IS WORKING ON IT FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS WITHOUT ANY CLEAR INDICATION OF THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM OR MENTIONING THE TIME OF VEHICLE RETURN. DT
