The 2010INFINITIG37 carries 96 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 8 crashes, 0 fires, 3 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2010 G37 is air bags with 33 filings, followed by unknown or other (13) and vehicle speed control (9). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 7 investigation files overlapping the 2010 G37. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

My passenger airbag light is on and when I reported it to Infiniti, they told me it was the airbag sensor in the seat and that the entire seat would need to be replaced for a cost of over $2000.00. I understand there was a previous recall for the previous years, but not for 2010 models. In speaking with other Infiniti owners, I understand this is a common issue with the G37. Why has there not been a recall issued?

Passenger side airbag error code is displayed on my dash. It is error code B1018 occupant sensor malfunction.
The firewall drain grommets for the sunroof drain line have needed to be replaced three times over the past 5 years. This is a well known design defect. Many Infiniti owners have complained about rain water ruining the interior foot wells on both the driver and front passenger areas AND causing damage to electronics inside the car. The design flaw issue is very expensive to repair, and to add insult to injury, the costly repair does NOT last for more than a couple of years. These vehicles should have a recall issued, which is the only real way to get the Infiniti car manufacturer's attention. Otherwise, vehicles will continue to be sold with this known defect. Damaged electronics are dangerous because they are known fire and safety hazards. Infiniti needs to be held accountable.

(UNKNOWN)There is a major problem with the dashboard cracking and peeling. This has been going on for a while now and it just keep getting worse. I have checked on line and I see where this is not an isolated problem. I don't understand why infiniti has not done a major recall by now. (UNKNOWN )The second problem with the infiniti is the battery going down. I am not sure why or for what reason the battery keep going down even if you drive it. This is also a problem that has been going on and it is not an isolated problem either. I have to keep getting battery boost every since we purchased this vehicle. I know infiniti has to know by now that this is a problem. This a major safety risk to me and others who maybe stranded late at night.
Passenger airbag light continues to flash and shows disabled
Inspection of vehicle exhibits extreme front subframe crossmember deterioration where condensation from air conditioning leaks onto and sits on crossmember. Afftected unit shows severe corrosion only on one side. This appears to be a very common issue surrounding vehicle model generation. Can lead to the front right control arm becoming unsupported and leading to loss of control of vehicle and fatal highway accident. Please investigate weather this issue is a safety concern from an engineering issue and requires corrective action from the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37. The contact stated while driving into the garage at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated that the engine revved to 5,000 RPMS. The contact depressed the brake pedal, and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure occurred on three other occasions in a parking lot, and while driving on the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed but no cause for the failures were found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

Dashboard is cracking badly. This could possibly affect airbag function if this dashboard damage continues to worsten, an obvious safety issue.
The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the airbag warning light illuminated. The contact later noticed that there was a crack in the dashboard. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they could repair the dashboard but not the airbags. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Passenger side airbag sensor has failed - this is a serious threat to human life in case of an accident and I'm pretty sure this is illegal. I purchased the car March 2021 from a dealer in San Jose, and this did not show on the carfax report, nor did the dealer inform me of this defect. BaseD on my research this is a common problem with other G37's of the same year and into 2011. Infiniti of Beaverton, OR has quoted $7,000.00 to repair which is a little less than half the cost of the car's value. INFINITI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AS IT IS A SERIOUS DEFECT AND IS A LIFE THREATENING SAFETY ISSUE!
PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR HAS FAILED, CAUSING THE SYSTEM TO BE INOPERATIVE. BASED ON RESEARCH, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHICH WAS ADDRESSED ON SOME NISSAN/INFINITI MODELS, BUT NOT THE G37 CONVERTIBLE. THE COST TO REPAIR IS PROHIBITIVE AT $9000.

INFINIT HAS ISSUES WITH THEIR CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM. THEY RUN A METAL TO PLASTIC GEAR THAT STRIPS AND FAILS. THIS CAUSES THE TOP TO SOMETIMES STOP MID CYCLE AND THROW AN ERROR CODE. THEN THE OWNER IS UNABLE TO SECURE THE TOP. I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER WITH THE TOP IN MID POSITION, NOT SAFE. FRANKLY NOR IS IT TO SAFE TO TOW IN THAT POSITION. IN MY CASE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAT ONCE. IF ONE GOOGLES "INFINITI CONVERTIBLE FLAP FAILURE" YOU WILL SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. INFINITI HASN'T REWORKED THE PARTS (CAR WAS CANCELLED) OR COVERED THE REPAIRS WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART. BETTER YET THESE REPAIRS ARE 2K PER OCCURRENCE TO RESOLVE. AND IN MY CASE FAIL EVERY OTHER YEAR.

FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (OCS) FAULT: B1018-00. THIS MEANS THAT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DISABLED ALONG WITH WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND CONSOLE. CAR HAS ONLY 35K AND GARAGE KEPT AND DEALER MAINTAINED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON MANY INFINITI / NISSAN MODELS THAT HAVE AN OFFICIAL RECALL, BUT NOT ON THE 2010 G37 FOR SOME REASON EVEN THOUGH IT USES THE SAME SENSOR AS OTHER MODELS WHICH DO HAVE A RECALL. INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THEY SEE A LOT OF THIS ISSUE AND THE ONLY WAY TO RESTORE PASSENGER SAFETY IS TO REPLACE THE SEAT WHICH UPWARDS OF $6900. EVEN IF I WANTED TO REPLACE THE SEAT, I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT SEATS OR INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE SO I'M ON MY OWN! DUE TO THIS COMMON DESIGN FLAW IN INFINITI / NISSAN CARS THAT SHARE THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE, THIS MODEL SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE SAME RECALL.THE OTHER MODELS HAVE. MY VEHICLE USES THE SAME EXACT PARTS AS THE RECALLED ONES, HAS THE SAME ISSUES, AND YET BECAUSE OF SMALLER NUMBER O

PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR HAS FAILED, SO THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. DASH WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED WHILE IN OPERATION. SPOKE TO INFINITI AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND THEY CONFIRMED NO RECALL CURRENTLY. SPOKE TO THE LOCAL INFINITI DEALER WHO STATES THEY MUST DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE. SEAT SENSOR HAS FAILED AND REPAIR INCLUDES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT, WHICH COSTS AROUND $9K. THE CURRENT TRADE IN VALUE OF THE CAR IS $5-8K. NO ONE CAN SAFELY RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED BY INFINITI.
FAULTY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, AND HAVING TO PAY $6000 TO FIX IT IS JUST RIDICULOUS.
MY 2010 INFINITI G37 CONVERTIBLE'S AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED FLASHING A MONTH OR SO AGO. I RECENTLY BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY CHARGED ME $149 TO INFORM ME THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG UNIT IN THE SEAT HAD A BAD SENSOR/RELAY AND THE COST TO REPLACE IT IS $7,500. YOU CANNOT JUST REPLACE THE RELAY, BUT RATHER HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT UNIT. IN MOST OTHER CARS, IT IS A FEW HUNDRED DOLLAR FIX AND ONLY REQUIRES REPLACING THE SENSOR/RELAY. I CALLED INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND INFORMED THEM OF THIS AND THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THEIR AIRBAG UNITS AND THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, OTHER THAN PAYING $7,500 TO REPLACE THE UNIT. THE PART NUMBER IS "87300-JJ84A - CUSHION". THIS IS THE SECOND INFINITI VEHICLE THAT I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAGS. I HAD A 2008 INFINITI G35 SEDAN WHICH WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE A CAR HIT ME FROM BEHIND AT 40-50 MILES PER HOUR (I WAS STOPPED) AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WILL FILE A SEPARATE COMPLAINT REGAR
