AT APPROXIMATELY 11:00 PM ON JANUARY 04, 2004 I WAS HEADING EAST BOUND ON INTERSTATE 10 AND EXITED THE FREEWAY AT THE ORANGE GROVE EXIT. AS I APPROACHED THE ORANGE GROVE INTERSECTION I PROCEEDED ON A GREEN LIGHT TO MAKE A LEFT ONTO ORANGE GROVE. TRAVELING AT A REASONABLE SPEED FOR THE INTERSECTION, I NOTICED A LOUD POP IN THE FRONT END, AND CONSEQUENTLY LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING. AT THIS TIME I WAS FORCED TO THE RIGHT AND CAME IN CONTACT PARALLEL TO A CEMENT BARRIER CAUSING MINIMAL BODY DA

I WAS ON THE EAST BOUND RAMP MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, A 18 WHEELER (NO LOAD) SUPPOSEDLY SWERVED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING A CAR THAT CROSSED IN FRONT OF IT. I TRIED TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT BUT COULDN'T BECAUSE THERE WAS NO PLACE TO GO (NO MEDIAN TO THE RIGHT) WHEN I NOTICED THE TRUCK HEADING TOWARDS ME, I THOUGHT I HAD GOTTEN OUT OF HIS WAY, HOWEVER, HE STATED THAT HIS WHEELS/BRAKES LOCKED CAUSING THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK TO HIT ME DIRECTLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE.
